Quote:Nebraska regulators approved a route for TransCanada Corp's (TRP.TO) Keystone XL pipeline through the state on Monday, lifting the last big regulatory obstacle for the long-delayed project that U.S. President Donald Trump wants built.

The 3-2 vote by the Nebraska Public Service Commission helps clear the way for the pipeline linking Canada's Alberta oil sands to refineries in the United States, but is likely to be tied up for years in court challenges by opponents who say the project is an environmental risk.

"We are going to fight like hell to make sure this pipeline never gets built," said Jane Kleeb, the head of anti-pipeline Bold Nebraska, a political advocacy group.

Quote:TransCanada Chief Executive Officer Russ Girling said in a statement that the company will review the commission's decision and assess how it will affect the cost and schedule of the project. The company's stock rose 1.3 percent after the vote to C$63.35.

The proposed line has been a lightning rod of controversy since it was first advocated nearly a decade ago with environmentalists making the project a symbol of their broader fight against fossil fuels and global warming. Business groups and Trump, a Republican, said it could boost the economy.

Alberta province Premier Rachel Notley cheered the commission's decision, saying the pipeline "will mean greater energy security for all North Americans."
Awesome! And I'm still not tired of winning, keep it coming!
The pipeline was blocked because of the ranchers and farmers did not want it to go through their land. This is going against the court orders. It will be hold up in court for a long time. This company's sister pipeline spilled oil in South Dakota that would effect the wildlife for a long time. You know how hard it is to clean up sand tar oil? That is why nobody in Nebraska wants it because the plans for the pipeline goes through the water shed. I see a long future of lawsuits tied up in court. Obama did not blocked the pipeline. It was the ranchers who won their court case against the oil company.
Win for Trump? Hasn't thing thing been proposed for a decade?

The Obama administration blocked the construction. The Trump administration approved it.

If that had to be spelled out for you perhaps participating in a political message board isn't your cup of tea.

We have pipelines crisscrossing all over this country. How much do they spill? I have another question. Obama, was he against prosperity or growth?
I ask that because it seems the country did very little of either under his watch.

Wrong, it was the courts that blocked it, not Obama. It is still tied up in the courts. The ranchers are fitting the oil company.

This oil is already moving via Warren Buffet's railroad. The question should be will the pipeline spill more than trains? You seem to be accepting of spills from railroad accidents.

Sometimes I feel sorry for you and the absolute ignorance you display on here, but then you spout off some more of your false information and I get over it. News flash Skippy....you don't know half the **** you think you know.

Quote:President Barack Obama on Friday rejected the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, ending the political fight over the Canada-to-Texas project that has gone on for much of his presidency.
Secretary of State John Kerry concluded the controversial project is not in the country's national security interest, and Obama announced from the White House that he agreed.
"America is now a global leader when it comes to taking serious action to fight climate change, and frankly, approving this project would have undercut that leadership," Obama said.

How about next time you feel the need to spout off about something make sure you have all your ******* facts straight so you can avoid looking like a total idiot when you are shown to be wrong yet again.
Good luck with that sludge that Canada doesn't want.
