GCU is 2-0 so far with wins over Robert Morris and Florida A&M. They have a tall starting line-up of 6-3, 6-4, 6-6, 6-7, 6-10. No short guards.

They shoot well, and in the short season so far, their defense has been amazingly good. Opponents shoot 36% overall and 24% from the arc. They are +2 on the boards. They do average 17 turnovers per game.

Three players average double figures. Joshua Braun does the most damage at 15.5 ppg. He is a redshirt senior guard who is shooting 50% from the arc. He is their career leader in made 3-pointers, so you can pretty well figure he has a perpetual green light to fire away. They appear to rebound by committee, with no one averaging over 6.5 per game.

Last year they drew in the 6000-7000 range in their first two home games.

Sagarin picks GCU by 10. RealtimeRPI has them by 16.

Dan Majerle has done a great job with this program. Considering factors like the travel involved, I viewed this as a tougher matchup then Memphis. We exceeded my expectations against the Tigers, so hopefully we can pull a surprise in Arizona.
If we continue our "let them score at will" non-existent perimeter defense, the Braun kid should have a field day.
Although our web site doesn't say it, the game is scheduled on espn3 tonight
