As I turn to ESPN2 to check on the Akron/OU score, I see Akron score its third touchdown of the game & the second quarter just started. They lead Ohio 24-21...Akron has already scored 24 points vs. Ohio in just 20 minutes. Toledo (MAC's leading offense) failed to score more than 10 the entire game last week vs. Ohio. Toledo curb stomped Akron. Mystifying. Mind-boggling. What.the.hell.happened?
Hard to say. Combination of several short weeks in a row along with very poorly timed turnovers and a let down after NIU is my best guess. Akron is making their defense look like swiss cheese though. Let's figure out a way to get to Detroit and we know we at least have a chance against either of these squads. Gotta win out though.

We were not good enough to go undefeated in the conference.
They didn't come ready to play.
Akron up 30-24 at half. This just doesn't make sense?

Besides just not being ready to play, OU really exploited UT's depleted O-Line. They blitzed nearly every play, and the O-Line couldn't handle it, and they really only have 5 healthy linemen to play, so it's not like subs were really an option. Without a run game to slow down the pressure, Woodside was running for his life way too many plays.

That being said, still should have led at the half, if not for the 2 fumbles, the bad punt, the OU fumble that UT tried to pick up instead of falling on it. Could easily have been up by 1 or 2 touchdowns at the half, and maybe the 2nd half then would have been different.

Overall just a poor performance.
OU getting to play on a short week this time around also. Lots of factors.
OK, so Akron has defeated Ohio and we defeated Akron, so we defeated Ohio, right?

Right. Much rather face Akron in Detroit than OU. Let’s win our next two, guys!
That is some wacky MAC stuff right there. Football is a game of momentum. Vs the zips everything went our way and Akron couldn't do anything right. Same for us vs OU, it just wasn't our night.
