Win convincingly...please

That is all. Hopefully we come out and make the game look easy. Lower division teams have given us trouble recently so hopefully this mends that trend. I won't make a prediction but I fear this will be a nail biter with us coming out on top.
just win period
Pretty interesting how this is an exhibition game for Arcadia (according to their schedule), but it counts in the standings for Drexel. Anyhoo, Arcadia only won 9 games last year and has 5 new players last year. Just really hoping that this game is like the Kean game last year, and let everybody get a taste of game action. Just like most DIII teams, Arcadiia has very little height. Even though this is a DIII team vs. a DII team, we don't want to see a game that even closely resembles the U Sciences game from a few years ago.
I have to agree that I hope this game ends up looking a lot like Kean did last year.

Bowling Green was a rough start for the guards other than Mojica, hopefully this can be a game that will get some confidence going ahead of the Paradise Jam. It will be good if Isabell and Overton are back. You don't want Overton to get further injured, but if he can go and get off to a better start that last year that would be good. Hopefully Isabell has learned something and can get to the business of developing on-court chemistry with Lee and Harper.
Honestly, just don't let anyone get hurt and leave it at that.

9 wins last year and 5 (or more) new players, sounds familiar. I don't understand why Kean and now, Arcadia counts to our record. I guess its just a choice by the program to schedule it as a regular game instead of an exhibition like Nova or WCU.

Hoping that Miles is healthy, all suspensions are over and we can just begin to click. Wipe away the sting of that 19-0 run on Saturday night, and get ready for the Lynchburg Jam.
It seems a lot of coaches must like these non-D1 games. Elon, UNCW, JMU, and Northeastern have already played them and every other CAA team will have at least one with William and Mary, Elon, Towson, UNCW, and Delaware all playing two. Sometimes they come as part of the tournaments (like when we played Alaska-Anchorage a couple years ago) but for the most part they seem to be part of a scheduling strategy. I guess they give another home game that can be hard to come by for mid-majors and they offer a chance to try things out in a game situation but against weaker competition and don't affect the RPI.

Like Dan led off the thread with, they better win convincingly. Given they are a mediocre D3 school, we shouldn't even need to say please.
Any suspensions/injuries tonight?

According to Always a Dragon on twitter, Isabell is suited up. Alford and Overton still out with injuries. No boot for Overton though which is an improvement.
Starting lineup is Williams-Doles-Mojica-Harper-Lee

Interesting to see Doles getting the start over Green.
Probably just trying out different starting lineups before this weekends games?
51-42 at the half. Can't complain about the offense, but the defense is offensive at times. Getting outrebounded 17-16 - inexcusable against a D3 team.
if you want to see a really good game...i'll probably take in messiah college vs. lancaster bible college on wednesday night.
95-81 final. We win and it never really seemed in doubt, but still the final score was too close in my opinion. We end up getting outrebounded 38 - 35. Drexel's leading rebounders were Harper with 8 and Isabell with 6. The big guys have to step up the rebounding.

Nice balanced scoring. 5 guys in double digits, Green with 9, Doles with 8.
It is hard to rebound if you arent in the paint or even trying to jockey for position. Too many times I saw Arcadia players box out to get rebounds and our player just stood there hoping the ball would bounce to them. Wont win many rebound with no desire to get rebounds.

On defense, we still look like we dont want to play it and want to purely focus on offense. Quite a few times I saw us lazily reach in hoping to knock the ball loose so that we could get out and run. Hoping to just out score teams is a fine strategy, but for it to work you have to be decently solid on defense to make sure you have more opportunities, and I am not sure I see that on the defensive end. At least not right now.

I dont mind the fast pace where you give up more on defense, but it does not appear we even care about trying or putting effort in on defense or rebounding, which is frustrating. We knew this was a potential concern though with Spiker.
Wrapup on this one will be out later this afternoon! Busy day at work.
I understand we have new faces playing together, but need to cut back on the turnovers. 25% and 20% (vs a D3) turnover rates is a bad way to start the season.

I actually thought the defense was better looking in the first half of the Bowling Green game. Once they came out of the break and started attacking and got Austin and foul trouble, it all fell apart. They seemed to play a bit better in the second half against Arcadia as well.
