Will Florida State even be bowl eligible?

If UAB plays and beats Florida State, Jimbo Fisher might be available again if their fans get their wishes.
So? We have a coach.

The only way UAB gets a bowl game with FSU IMO is if UAB beats UF saturday.

Then it becomes a marketable game. I think they would rather have Lousiana Tech vs FSU.
Would love that Free Shoes U matchup.
I know I'm in the minority here...but Memphis/UAB in the Birmingham Bowl would be pretty sweet. I think we get a huge crowd for that game. If not Birmingham...please New Orleans.

Just me here. I have 0 confidence Birmingham shows up for Birmingham bowl. We've played at home with winning record all year. Crowd has gotten smaller by a couple thousand a game. Do folks really think Memphis fans will be motivated to travel to Birmingham again? It'd be a letdown for them to be in Birmingham bowl. Again, those coaches & players already rewarded Birmingham. Time to return the favor.

Id love to see you guys in the Boca bowl but my head says UAB might get the bahamas bowl if FAU doesn't want it.

Memphis definitely will be disappointed with the Birmingham bowl, specifically Legion Field. They would bring a lot less than last year.
If invited to the Birmingham Bowl and a bowl literally anywhere else, UAB should take the game literally anywhere else
I'm a conspiracy type person, so forgive me for this thought. But, is there any chance UAB and Coach Clark are "forced" to take the BHM Bowl if offered, simply to reduce costs? Would our administrative "leadership" feel obligated to return the favor to the city and accept the invite? On the other hand, the city has more to gain by having other teams come in. UAB fans are not going to rent hotel rooms, eat out multiple times, etc.

Well, the city doesn't control the bowl game, ESPN does
With our 7th victory and hopefully 8th plus victory we should have earned the right to play in a bowl a little bit higher up the chain than the one in Birmingham.

Independence Bowl against FSU would be good because of the opponent, date of bowl game, relatively short distance, etc.

Well, I didn't insinuate the city controls the bowl. The favor would be to have the hometown team play in the home town. I guess you just assumed or read into it more than I wrote.
