Because he had to make room for a THIRD B1G team in his Top 7. Ohio St Purdue and Mich St.
If you'd told me at the start of the season that the American would have 7 teams below 100 RPI not including Memphis and UConn I'd ask what was in your pipe. Our conference teams ranked by current RPI:

6 Cincinnati (12-0) 23-2
19 Wichita St. (9-3) 19-5
30 Houston (9-3) 19-5
40 Temple (7-6) 15-10
58 UCF (6-6) 15-9
79 SMU (5-7) 15-10
93 Tulsa (7-5) 14-10
100 UConn (5-7) 12-13
128 Tulane (4-8) 13-11
136 Memphis (5-7) 14-11
275 E. Carolina (3-9) 9-14
292 So. Florida (1-12) 8-18

If Temple keeps winning they will pose an interesting take from the selection committee.
Uc may get a first place vote tomorrow...

@WBALDash: Cincinnati friends: it is a VERY difficult call between Michigan State and Cincinnati for No. 1. Will need the rest of the night to look at metrics.

He's still the AP voter of the year.

Pretty sad really; a little less than four years ago they were hanging a national championship banner. They've fallen far and hard. I'll be the first to say the AAC has many shortcomings but that has little to do with the demise of an elite program under their current coaching staff. They should be flying high as one of the top dogs in this conference.

I always said that the face Ollie always makes on the bench looks like he's perpetually wondering "Who farted?" Well, I guess he's just smelling the **** sitting on his bench.
The article last week that said that top recruits in his backyard who decided against UCONN or who committed and then changed their minds because he was a lazy recruiter who wouldn't drive across town to see a kid may have been the last nail in the coffin.

That sounds very similar to a certain football coach who shall not be named.
Press Virginia beat TCU.

Baylor beat UT in DOT.
Baylor or Tcu both candidates to be the best team left out of the tournament. Both have been around top 30 caliber. Tcu seems safer but if they don't get to 8-10 in the league look out.
nova about to go down @ providence
Clemson going down would help, too.

Hate to say this..go UK...beat Auburn.
Clemson going down to FSU. That should give us some breathing room on them.

UK/Auburn a brick fest. Would help to have Auburn lose, but there is no chance I'm rooting for the Blue necks.

Nah... AUburn is overrated anyways. They'll slip at some point. Go Tigers!
PBS doubleheader...

Hou. Baptist (6-20) 77
Nwestern St. (3-22) 70

Detroit (7-20) 72
Cleveland State (8-20) 75
Clemson goes down too. Need that breathing room
I was all geared up to cheer on Villanova Saturday, but now I am wondering if a Villanova loss would be better for UC at this point.
