I saw this afternoon that NMSU had a 2018 kid come across Verbal Commits today. It reminded me that the early signing period for Letters of Intent kicks off tomorrow. Given how often kids seem to flip, I definitely breathe easier once the pen has gone to paper!

That said, I'm not aware of any 2018 kids who have verbally committed to GCU, so it could be a quiet day for Coach Majerle & staff. Are there any players you guys are looking forward to having officially signed to your teams as early as tomorrow?
Hoping for Greg Floyd Jr. Former 6'9'' 4 star ESPN recruit who had offers from a boatload of P5's who committed to Long Beach then went JUCO. Might've been grade issues. As of right now CSUB is his only offer and Barnes has visited him a few times. Seems he is a high priority. That would be an incredible get. CSUB has 2 spots left to fill for next year.

Wow, that offer list is insane. Wonder how many more he will get
3-star Trey'Von Hopkins, former Boise State commit with multiple high major offers, officially signs with Seattle U today. Rip Economou does as well.

Addison Wallace officially signed with NMSU today. He was rated the 26th best Texas HS player in the 2018 class after last season.

Just curious, V...where do you get this kind of early info? Didn't see anything yet on goutrgv.com, usually they announce NLOI's there.

Jamal Gaines looks like a good one.

I saw it on a tweet; WAC Attack account retweeted it from UTRGV MBB account.

Twitter is your best bet for info. Their coaches and high schools usually announce signings of their players.

No kidding. During the hipsher days we had a lot of turnover with commits. One of our commits ended up going to UNC Ashville, took them to the tourney and is now at Arizona.
Darius Williams 6'8'' PF verbally committed last month and signed his LOI yesterday. Seems like a very good all around athletic big man. Love the signing adds some much needed length. CSUB still expecting two more signings.

Quote:Originally from Newark, N.J., Williams graduate from The Robinson School, where he led the Phoenixes to an American Independent Post Grad Athletic Conference (AIPGAC) Championship while being named AIPGAC Player of the Year. Williams averaged 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks a game, helping The Robinson School to a 31-2 record and a No. 2 national ranking.

Williams then traveled from New Jersey to Texas to compete at Paris Junior College last year. In his freshman season, Williams helped the Dragons with an efficient eight points per game on 51.4% shooting from the field. He also chipped in for 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists a contest.

While at Paris JC, Williams was a top player in the Mullins Top 100 Camp and was a Juco-Showcase All-Star at the Elite 80 East Camp. He will continue to develop while completing his second season at Paris JC before coming to CSUB.

Barnes described Williams and what he brings to the Roadrunners on the court: "He fits what we do here. He is a very unselfish player who is long, athletic, and skilled with size and length. He is a versatile player who can play inside and outside. Also, Darius has been well-coached by Coach Taylor and Coach Robinson."

BTW Clarity, CSUBs official website is looking pretty sweet!
GCU officially lands 4 star recruit (according to ESPN), 6’6” SG Tim Finke from Champaign, Illinois. Huge get for the program!!!
Very good pick up. WAC recruiting is getting interesting.

Finke's a Top 100 player. Dad played at Illinois. Older brother is a RS JR on Illinois' current squad. Tim had an offer from Illinois, along with 20+ other schools. I'll believe it when the LOI is signed, but looks like he could be a great add for the Lopes.
Well, Majerle has until tomorrow to sign Finke. Otherwise, Lope Fans will have to wait until the second NLI period starting in mid April.
