With all the turmoil surrounding the vote for Catalonian independence, there seems to be a chance that soccer teams in the region could be kicked out of La Liga.

And apparently there's talk of these clubs joining another nation's domestic league.

FC Barcelona on the move?

Might they end up in the English Premier League? There's talk of that as well. Maybe France or Italy...
You wonder if there would be more money in a European “super league” rather than the current domestic leagues.

I think it will come down to that in the near future (with NO relegation).

The big teams won't leave their country leagues. If Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich play each other every week, they'll all end up with "average" records over time, and their name brands are not built on average records. Their name brands are built on winning 90% of the time vs. the likes of Malaga or Stuttgart. They won't give that up.

What they might eventually do is leave the UEFA Champions League tournament for a tournament that is either 100% composed of name-brand clubs or 80-90% name-brand clubs. That allows them to have what they might think is the best of both worlds -- they keep their domestic league and their image of consistent dominance in that league, plus they get an extremely lucrative tournament from which they keep all the money without giving a cut to UEFA or to less-well-known clubs.

UEFA is already concerned about this possibility, which is why, starting with next year's Champions League, each of the top-four leagues is guaranteed four teams that directly qualify for the 32-team group stage.
Similar to Monaco with France and Wales with England, if Catalan every becomes its own nation, the professional teams likely won't part Spain.
