Most projections have USF going to Peach but we will take that slot in the AAC Championship game. I would be a definite on Atlanta or Dallas being easy drives. Not sure about Fiesta. I think Memphis getting a New Years Six Bowl bid would be the biggest most important thing to happen to the program even counting basketball championship game appearances and I love basketball . It’s going to be big, especially if we get the win. My only fear is we start hearing coach leaving rumors crank up and derail it all. Hope Norvell plans on hanging around a while.
I’m excited but just wanna beat Tulane next.

Right on. Tulane, Tulsa, SMU and ECU will treat our games like the superbowl.

Cannot have a let down and have to stay focused.
Cotton Bowl but that's just purely based on travel

Yep, easy traveling for me too.
Will it be at Jerry World or at Fair Park?
I'm pretty sure we go to the Peach Bowl if we are the G5 "winner".
i would walk to Alaska to see our Tigers play in a significant bowl game

Yes
Let's just take 'em one at a time.

We got a bunch of wins to still get...
See you in ATL!
Run that ****.
Go Tigers Go
At Tulsa is going to be tough.
Cotton Bowl is not available this year for the G5 champ. It'll either be the Peach or Fiesta.

Per Brett McMurphy

"The highest ranked Group of 5 champion will either play in the Fiesta or Peach Bowl this season and not the Cotton Bowl.

All three bowls are supposed to be the options for the top Group of 5 champ, but the Cotton will not be considered because it will host the Group of 5 champion after the 2019 season.

This is significant news for fans of teams in the running for the New Year's 6 bid. Nearing the midpoint of the season, San Diego State of the Mountain West and UCF, USF and Navy of the American are currently the most-likely candidates for the Group of 5 New Year's 6 bowl bid.

Executive director Bill Hancock told me the College Football Playoff prefers not to send a Group of 5 team to the same bowl twice in a three-year cycle. This is the first-year of the three-year cycle. After next season, the Fiesta or Peach would host the Group of 5 champion, with the Cotton Bowl locked in for the Group of 5 champion after the 2019 regular season.

The Peach, Fiesta and Cotton are the only bowls eligible to host the highest-ranked Group of 5 champion since the Power 5 leagues have contracts to fill the Rose, Sugar and Orange bowls, when they are not hosting a College Football Playoff semifinal.

The College Football Playoff’s protocol indicates the selection committee will try to avoid assigning the same team or conference to the same (at-large) New Year's 6 bowl repeatedly.

The College Football Playoff is in the fourth-year of its 12-year contract. The previous highest-ranked Group of 5 champions have played in the Fiesta (Boise State in 2014), Peach (Houston in 2015) and Cotton (Western Michigan in 2016).

The first College Football Playoff rankings will be released Oct. 31. The final rankings, playoff pairings and New Year's 6 bowl matchups will be announced Dec. 3.

The selection committee's highest-ranked Group of 5 conference champion will be placed in either the Peach or Fiesta bowl on Dec. 3. However, if Navy is the AAC champion and in the running for the New Year's 6 bowl bid, the committee can hold its announcement until after the Army-Navy game Dec. 9."
Fiesta
Obviously as fans we always look ahead. I wouldn’t care where it was. And while I haven’t been around long as some. I’ve been a fan of Memphis long enough to know that never expect the expected.
Most likely the Peach. Wife wants Fiesta (trip to AZ), while I prefer the 1 hour drive to the Peach Bowl. But all of that can be dashed by an unfocused team. Tulane is much better than some folks want to think with pretty good D. Tulsa destroyed UH despite their record & we have to go to Tulsa. SMU has their best team in years & is the highest scoring team in the conference (I think) & only losses to UH & TT even though they had no trouble scoring. ECU is down but they too have some talent. One game at a time, stay focused, GTG!
Peach - the new stadium is like going to Disney World - it will be quite an experience, but first we got five pieces of business to take care of.
We are fans so can discuss things beyond the Tulane game, especially on. Message board.

So...IF we win out...would strongly prefer the Peach Bowl, then Cotton, then Fiesta. All based on geography. Even though Dallas and Atlanta are similar distances, Atlanta works much better around New Years.

Players and coaches...worry about and prepare for Tulane.

Cotton not in play this year contractually if you believe McMurphy, will be either Peach or Fiesta.

Just an interesting off-subject observation.... The comparison of the Peach Bowl & its rise to prominence & the Liberty Bowl which years back was considered the better bowl, has a similar history path as our university FB standing in 60-70s as a major independent along with FSU (& way ahead of UL) vs today as a member of the G-5 & where UL & FSU are today. And all because the supporters/promoters of the Peach (FSU/UL) had a vision & made progress while the Liberty Bowl not so much ( & Memphis until the current admin got behind the program). I understand lots of reasons why, but sad. Do like the progress of what's going on these days. GTG!
I love ATL so I wanna go to the Peach! That new stadium would be pretty awesome to play in.

Interesting.

I remember very well when the Fiesta Bowl was much lower profile, seeming to be a place for Arizona State to play a game after the season. Miami and Penn State changed that by playing each other instead of going to what would have likely been Miami to the Orange Bowl and Penn State to the Cotton or vice versa after the 1986 season. That really helped lead to many Bowl changes, even conference alignment changes as both schools were in conferences soon after that.
