Have at it fans....I have said for 4 years he has not been getting it done recruiting at the FBS level. Now it is showing up. Wood got suckered into a contract by BW last year because the team went to a bowl by not beating anyone.

Payout is $1.5 million until 12/1/2017. $1.2 million after that until 12/1/2018 and down $300k a year going forward.

This is the pulse of a small percentage of fans. And, for what it's worth, message board posters are probably the most irrational subset of fans (I include myself in this percentage).

No offense but I disagree with you. We aren't the fans that matter to ODU, unless you give a lot more to ODAF than I do. ODU cares about the huge corporate donors, many of which I'm sure aren't on the message boards.

Come to ODU! Where it doesn't matter what you do up until then, the first season that you don't play up to expectations, you're out on your ass! I swear to God, people around here act like bowl games and +.500 records are God-given rights even though the program is still less than 10 years old. But sure, turf everyone and oh while we're at it, let's drop down a level so we can win more! In fact, **** Division 1! ODU's national title in basketball came in Division 2, so maybe that's where they should be! Until the recruiting falls to that level and they don't automatically get 30 wins in hoops and 10 wins in football every year just by existing, but the good news is there's more levels below. Division 3? Sure, let's line up with Randolph-Macon and CNU in football and CNU and Virginia Wesleyan in hoops! ODU's way bigger and has way better facilities than them, so they should always be in national title contention! And if not? Well, there's always the NAIA! And the NCCAA! Maybe ODU's level has been Mid-Atlantic Christian and Regent all this time!

I really hope some of you people are not tasked with long-term goals in your jobs because if the pearl-clutching and panic-selling around here is any indication, you'd bury your companies by the end of the fiscal year.

This year is going to suck. Get over it and get better. Or fap to the memories of beating Chowan and Campbell. Your choice.

If you think the 12th Monarchs that the coach talks about is what really matters to this program, then more power to you. The administration cares about the big donors, notice Ballard just got another gig with ODU.

The 12th Monarch thing is more along the rah rah we've sold out 800 games in a row thing that really means a whole lot of nothing. That is only my opinion, I'm sure many people will disagree. When I go to work with all of my VT, UVA, and JMU co-workers, it is rather embarrassing to have this sellout streak to hang my hat on. Beat someone better than Albany for crying out loud.
