Boy Scouts of America announced Wednesday that it will begin admitting girls next year. The organization will also allow older girls to earn the rank of Eagle Scout for the first time in its 107-year history beginning in 2019. Previously, girls were allowed to join four scouting programs (Venturing, Sea Scouting, Exploring, and STEM), but none had paths to the Eagle Scout rank.
There are plenty of good co-ed programs out there, like 4H.
They have killed what Boy Scouts was supposed to be.

They aren't set up to deal with this. There is a lot more unstructured activity than you have in different organizations. This is just a series of lawsuits waiting to happen.

The "Culture War" has been going on for nearly 40 years. I fought for what I thought were American values and what was morally right for much of my working life. What I found to be the main problem was that most Americans were so convinced of the correctness of their position that they did nothing to stop the fringe groups when they first started pushing agendas.
Now when headline after headline defies all reason and logic people are wringing their hands. All I want to know is where the hell were you 40 years ago? Apathy lost this fight and it was assisted by those too busy to take the time to stand up and be counted.
The "Culture War" wasn't won by the plaintiffs. It was forfeited by those who claim most to be moral. And they were helped in large part by churches that wanted no part of getting embroiled in controversial issues which might cost them a buck.

I don't know about other areas of the country, but the Boys Scouts have turned into a place where the nerds & outcasts seem to congregate up here in the Northeast.
Nobody is getting laid early any time soon as a boy scout in New England.
