Don't forget Notre Dame at 5-1 and Army at 4-2.

At this point we need nearly all of the 85 teams at 3-3 or better to make it to fill all 78 slots.
Which bowl isn't being put on this year? One of the San Diego bowls?

Are there plans to replace it with another game ... or are they dragging their feet about allowing another site to be the 40th game?

Even with only 39 games, there will be 6-7 teams and 5-7 teams that play in bowls. So I can see them trying to prevent a 40th game from being approved.

The Poinsettia Bowl is no more. It is unlikely a 40th game (actually 41st due to the CFP) will be approved.
i was surprized ESPN did not buy pointsetta bowl
ESPN bought Mia game

2020 is the earliest for a 40th bowl. There are some 2 and 1 win teams that "may" come into the running but I did not want to list those teams until 3 or 4 wins. A quick list

UAB is sitting at 3-2, which is about as good a spot as we could have hoped for at this point. We're is no position to start penciling in wins, but I think we'll have a good shot at beating Charlotte, Rice, and UTEP and getting to 6 wins. I'll feel a lot better about our chances if we can steal a win from MTSU this week.

Hope UAB does, that would be a great story. I initally thought it would be a long resurrection if it even was reinstated. Rooting for UAB to make it.

Glad you've changed your mind.

Yup. I thought they would be the dregs for a while after the resurrection---but the team has been much better than I expected. Of course that same coach had them playing well prior to the fateful day when UAB originally disbanded the program. Im gllad to see it. Those fans deserve it after what they went through. In fact, they need to bask in the fun now....becasue, as is the case with any good G5 coach, its always just a matter of time until Bill Clark is scooped up by a P5 school with deeper pockets.
Could be a big week at the top. No top 25 matchups, but 12 of the top 25 play on the road and only 9 at home (quick check-I might have missed one or two). Most of the road games are challenges.

At the time, I truly thought that and would be liar to say I would have said any different. I also said, I looked at a business decsion and not a personal one. I thought that far to much damage had been done for UAB to recover. When UAB football was reinstated, I was one of the first to congratulate and say I was wrong on my prediction. I am not a anti or pro UAB, just a huge college football fan. So, UAB making a bowl would be great for the players, school and fans in there football come back. 04-cheers
