That is all.
plus, you guys still have teams like Charlotte, Rice, and UTEP (combined 1-14) left to play...I'd love to see UAB make a bowl this season. That would be one great come back story. Good Luck!!!
We knew we would need one we shouldn't win (on paper), glad to get that one today. Now if we can just stay healthy and take care of business against the teams we should beat going forward. I feel much better about December football than I did before today.
Go Blazers!
I knew we’d get half way to bowl eligibility...I just feared it would take 12 games to get there
Incredible right? Considering we saw Garrick McGee lose by nearly 40 to an 0-11 Southern Miss team just two seasons (4 years) ago...
Hush. That's right up there with SMU going eightysome yards in :37 on my "Never ever think about that game again" list.

0-23 USM team...
How many bowls does CUSA have this year? I can see CUSA having about 8 bowl eligible teams.
6 ...one more if ACC or $EC doesn't have enough teams for Independence Bowl
I feel like UAB will get a bowl invite if we are eligible, simply because of the feel-good story this season is.

I agree. Most bowls would get an extra boost in publicity from our comeback story. Plus if it's close (like the New Orleans bowl) our fans will be extra motivated to attend.
Yesterday's win was the upset we needed. Now if we just take care of business against the teams we'll be favored against (Rice, UTEP, Charlotte) we'll be bowl eligible.

Although with the way we played yesterday, there's no reason why we can't beat MTSU next Saturday and stretch the win count higher.

I concur. It'd be too good a story.

Maybe even for those nimrods in Mobile.
Well, neither Jerry Palm at CBS or the guys at ESPN have us projected in a bowl game as of now. But, if we keep winning they will have to pay attention eventually.
The College Football News has us playing in Shreveport against Virginia. At least the Tech fans could come over and help cheer on the Cavs.

I feel like @Charlotte, Rice at home, & UTEP at home are all winnable games. I don't see us beating Florida, and getting USM & UTSA on the road is tough.

MTSU is the only one I see as an absolute toss up. If we could leave this weekend with a win I would feel really good about our chances of making a bowl. If we could win MTSU and the 3 other winnable games then we'd almost be guaranteed a bowl game. There would have to be a lot of bowl-eligible teams for us to be skipped over with 7 wins.

Bowls don't care about feel good stories. They will invite whoever brings the most fans.

North Texas beat Southern Miss on the road. Southern Miss beat UTSA on the road. Obviously, both Southern Miss and UTSA are capable of losing at home. Just saying.
#theReturn and having the highest attendance in the conference should bode well for us this year, even at 6-6.
