That's a good rating.

College Friday Games are the new "old" Thursday Night Games (prior to NFL playing on Thursday Night).
Gotta admit that is a good rating.
The Arizona vs UTEP game afterwards drew .829
Lots of pirate ship enthusiasts around the country.
Anyone seen the ratings for the other AAC games? Memphis - UCLA?

That was 2.4 at the site I checked. The 3.693 is number of viewers.
It is critical we get these type of ratings. Friday night is the new Thursday, so we need AAC games constantly on Fridays.

Just like how VA Tech was the first major team to ",own" Thursday Nights (well before NFL Thursday games), I wouldn't mind the AAC working with ESPN to out on the best conf home game ,,,(,could be non conf game where AAC owns the rights as the home team) for the best preseason match ups to be placed on Friday nights.

In-season games can be moved to ESPN2 Saturday Night Primetime during the season but Friday nights (especially prior to NBA Season starting up), gives the AAC top billing opportunites.

Only downside to Friday night games is those decisions have to be made back in the Spring/early summer) so a good game on paper might end up being a dud come Oct or Nov.

I'm not sure that helps because the recruits aren't watching during those times... They are playing.

Didn't know that there were that many fans nationally of offsides penalties, late hits and illegal motion.

When the choices are slim, you will watch.
Now we know where most of the USF fans were rather than being in the stands...
Memphis - UCLA drew 3.238 million viewers.
Racking up the 1 million+ viewer games year after year is the best way to see a nice bump in the next AAC TV deal. While the OOC million+ games are valuable, its the AAC vs AAC 1 million+ games that are especially helpful in that endeavor.

This is good for the conference overall...regardless what AAC team is playing.

I've actually grown to like Friday games, b/c it frees up your Saturday to do other things or watch college football all day 03-wink
