Leading the nation with 15 sacks, I know not against the best competition but still pretty damn good.

C-USA better watch out.

Not bad after 2 games. I went to the VT game last Saturday and they didn't look that impressive. Had a lot of trouble running the ball on Delaware. I wouldn't be surprised if you guys kept it close.
I love having a strong DL because it helps the secondary so much. The strength of the DL is the depth as 1 through 9, they are extremely strong and talented. They dont have the 1 stud NFL draft pick and a bunch of JAGs like a lot of CUSA teams do. The depth allows them to be stronger in the 4th Quarter.

Very interested to see how the DL does against UNC and VT.

I'm not so sure C-USA "better watch out".

ODU has played Albany and UMass. Me personally, if I'm an ODU fan and ODU isn't ranked #1 in every statistical defensive category after playing those 2 teams...then I'm a little concerned, especially after Albany's true freshman RB almost ran for 100 yards (99 to be exact) against ODU's d-line....yikes. The RB's in CUSA are licking their chops. Be grateful yall don't have Ito Smith or Jarred Craft on yalls schedule this year.

We recorded 6 sacks against USM last year. Would have been more if your QB had held on to the ball. This years D-Line is better.

Yes. And that true freshman QB lasted one half into his true sophomore year. Should not have lasted that long. Know your football.

What's that have to do with ODU's line setting up residency in your backfield? You can get on him about not holding onto the ball but if we didn't strip him he would have been sacked even more than he was. If Mullens were in there he would have gone down too. And they'd eat Griggs lunch too.
I remember being impressed with the size and athletic ability of some of ODU's younger DL back in 2015 when USM hung 56 on them at The Rock. Last year, the ODU defense dismantled the Golden Eagles makeshift OL and this year USM has another makeshift OL (lost 4 OL since spring for various reasons and the starting LT was injured early in game vs KY and is out for a few more weeks) that is a work in progress with their 3rd OL coach in 3 years.

ODU will know a lot more about it's entire team after these next 2 weeks, and especially the defense.

I really like the Southern Miss defensive front thus far. Good size, speed, athleticism and depth as there are 11 guys in the rotation and 2 true freshmen that the coaches are very high on that are being redshirted.
Miami O and NC St had the best D Lines I have seen in a while. Both veteran groups with multiple NFL's draft picks.

I'm sensing a little butt-hurt from some ODU fans. All I'm saying is...Albany's true-freshman racked up 99 yards rushing against your d-line. Now if that offends some ODU fans to the point where they need to bring up past season's game then so be it. Just stating that if an 18 year old from Albany can do that...imagine what other RB's in CUSA would do.

First, you're talking to me. You don't have to say "some ODU fans". I wouldn't say "some USM fans have a stupid spaceman avatar". Second, what do I have to be butthurt over? I'm just pointing out that you saw a lesser ODU DLine last year and they worked your QB. Third, that kid from Albany got a third of those yards on a single play where he ran through a hole you could drive a bus through. You can't count on your front four to shut down someone's running game like that. They'll get blocked and a quick running back can be passed them in a half second. But if your QB drops back to pass he better get the ball out quick because the pockets won't last.

Maybe we shall see if you're that good. Otherwise BS. Others getting big runs yet a lot of sacks sounds like a lot of stunts and crossing. Early in the year that does work on weak teams. Not so much as the season goes on and competition gets better.
Seems you northern teams base all your predictions on last year. Go to it. This year ain't last year.

Your saying your pass defense is good and your run defense sucks.

Little Miami will end up being a top 3 defense in the MAC and NC State will most likely end up being a top 15 if not top 10 defense in the nation.

Litton moved the ball well on NC State when he wasn't backed up on dumb penalties. If we cut the penalties out there is no CUSA defense that would scare me.
You guys lost me at "ODU has played Albany and UMass".03-zzz

I wouldn't say it sucks but the pass rush is probably a strength, yeah. The DL is deep and experienced while the LB are young but have performed pretty well.
