Citadel Message Board
I think the Bucs will do a good job stopping the run at least in the first half, but we have to get points on the board.

Yep and special teams will need to help out as well. Can't have them starting their drives at our 45 and us starting at our 2.
The Citadel is averaging around 400 yards on the ground so far with that triple option. Hopefully our promising effort at JMU limits that.

We need to get off to a good start offensively. Herink needs to click with those receivers better than we saw Saturday. I think we have to pass effectively in order to run effectively, at least against this level of competition.
I understand The Citadel practiced today at Clemson’s indoor facility and hopes to practice somewhere in Greenville tomorrow. Since they had to move last weeks game to Presbyterian, they packed for both trips. You would hope ETSU will reach out to them.
As of now the weather is looking very good for Saturday.

Let them practice in the dome, but roll the turf up first.

Sunny, hot with little breeze. Hoping for our first upset in a packed stadium.

Anyone know where to find Socon odds ?

Go Bucs !!! 03-hissyfit

You have to click college extra. For some reason, the game is there, but no line yet.
Citadel is a 25 point favorite

For an old traditionalist like me, this is abysmal --- never, ever in the "old days" would The Citadel been favored over ETSU like this -- rarely even favored at all. My, my, it's hard to adjust to the new era sometimes.

Well good for them; however.

Remember last year folks ?

Kennesaw favored by 26.
Western favored by 29 1/2.
Samford favored by 20 to 40.

Bring it again Bucs !! Rimshot
I see it as 20 points; here's why. Last year the bucs traveled to SC and lost 45-10. That is a 35 pt spread. I give the home team +3. I believe the buc’s O is +6 better than they were last year against this team. I also believe their D is +6 better. You give the +3 to ETSU, the +6 O and +6 D, and the 10 from last year, and you get 25. You take the +3 home, and +7 away from the Citadel O (because you gave it to ETSU) and you now have 45-3-7 = 35. That would translate to a 35-25 win for the Citadel; but wait, there’s more. You have to consider 7 pts the bucs came up with last year was on a long play to #9 against a back-up CB. So in a closer game, pull that 7 off the board and you get 35-18; which is a 17 pt. spread. Also, I can’t give the bucs the +3 for being at home simply because the fans/stadium have not proved to be any type of factor yet (hopefully your fans will start getting behind the program and get involved). That puts it at 35-15. This is how I factored the 20 pt spread. Again, 20 points against the #6 FCS team in the nation would be a significant step forward for the program. 20 pts would be considered about a 40% improvement over last year’s team. But I’m sure the fan base will not comprehend the growth element, as most fans simply expect wins to magically drop from the heavens… If I were a betting man, I would take the Citadel to cover 19, but 20 is my line, not 25. I have a hard time punching that ticket. I’ll take the Bucs and 20. Weather its 20-0 or 55-35, either way would be a significant jump. I’ll be watching.
In the 'olde days' ETSU WAS NOT STARTING A FOOTBALL TEAM FROM SCRATCH.
Whew !! Thanks Spector.

That's 5 points we won't have to worry about. I can't even give Citadel 20 though.

Whup them dogs Bucs !! 03-hissyfit
Interesting that on their board, game with ETSU has yet to be mentioned. 03-yawn
