Nice mention of JMU during Georgia Tech v Jacksonville State (#5 FCS). Game announcers talked about JMU at #1 FCS spot beating FBS school, ECU last Weekend. Also said, JMU is the reigning FCS champion and shout out to Mike Houston who has done an exceptional job at JMU since leaving The Citadel. 04-cheers
Kentucky 17, EKU 16
RU 7, Colgate 7 at start of 3rd quarter.
Colgate 14. RU 7

Colgate runnimg for huge chunks of yardage on RU. Cardon, Marcus and others are gonna eat them alive.
Towson not doing so well, 14-63 Maryland.
Delaware just had 4 false starts in 5 plays. The other play being a sack. Brutal.
New Hampshire 22
Georgia southern 0
Surprised at GA Southern.
GSU. Both. Huge mistakes moving to Sun Belch.
Delaware couldn't string together a single score despite these stats (most of this well before the 4th quarter). Tech ran a punt back and Delaware had an INT in the red zone. Tech really didn't dominate like the score would indicate. I think Rocco has some stuff to work with, it'll be interesting to watch how they progress.

It's not the conference, not sure their leadership has done a good job of setting them up to be successful at the next level. Might be a case of thinking the small pond formula works in bigger ponds?

With out a doubt there are schools that shouldn't have made the move, or need to drop down. But even on cruise control I think JMU would bypass the majority of these schools. I wouldn't put Georgia Southern in that category, they just have too much of a winning history and culture, vs the Ga States and F_Us of the world.
So UR only beats a ranked Colgate team by a field goal and has to come from behind to do so. I guess they're not that good?
I feel like they're either going to be a mediocre caa team or they'll be that team that looks like they'll finally lose... yet continues to eek out wins somehow.

UNH and Villanova look to be the scary opponents.. Not worried about the Ticks.

I wouldn't call either scary. Maybe solid. Same with Maine. From what I saw of the Maine @ UNH game, despite UNH winning 24-23, Maine looked to be the better team. The main reason they lost was horrendous kicking (missed 30+ TD FG, blocked 30+ UD FG, missed PAT).

And has been said, UD could be solid. Get a bye week before JMU, and they may have be the best defense JMU will see. Their offense not so much..

Damn, really?

That wouldn't have happened when they were So Con, I wouldn't guess.

BIG Ouchie!

I agree. UNH and VU are the caa teams to beat through two weeks. UR looks like they're declining and Rocco or not, UD hasn't impressed so far, especially offensively. WM is a non-factor still. They have no offense.
If UR was a stock, I would not be selling it...yet. It would be a definite "Hold". Reason being, any time you have a HC and staff change, it can be slow going early on before everyone gets on board - and, often, we see the holdover players never get on board. Also, to be fair, they have had 2 road games against decent-to-good opposition and their schedule pre-SHSU was really mixed up due to Harvey. We'll see on them, but still too early to sell (IMO).
Georgia Southern's recruiting has dropped significantly. They aren't getting the SEC-type transfers like they once did at the 1-AA level. They've made some terrible decisions as far as coaching hires and staff changes since Fritz left for Tulane. They went away from Paul Johnson's funky offensive approach and the fans wanted it back so the head coach (instead of wanting his own identity) apparently collapsed to the fans and fired his 2 co-offensive coordinators and hired Johnson's QB Coach (Cook) from GT. They really don't have an offensive identity right now and are in a state of flux. Their HC may be gone after 2 seasons there.
