Hello Huskies! Jeff Compher your former athletic director has ran East Carolina football into the ground with poor decisions. I have a feeling we are staring 0-12 in the face. Unfortunately it will be hard to get rid of Compher because of the poor decision of our chancellor to extend his contract . At seasons end I have a good feeling Coach Montgomery Will be shown the door . Compher Will be in self-preservation mode and will have to make a good hire and likely a safe one . With Jerry Kill back in coaching and being a proven winner and someone Comoher has worked with I figure Jeff may turn to him if they have a good relationship? So does anyone know if Comoher and Kill got along well?
i have serious doubt that Kill will return to head coaching. Its in his blood, but not in his health's best interest.
but if he does, just don't count on any bowl wins.

I never heard anything about any trouble between the two, but Kill was hired initially by Jim Phillips, who shortly afterward moved on to Northwestern. Kill worked under Compher basically his whole time here. So...maybe?

Compher will pay an outside search firm to get 5 names...JC will then see which one of these fit his budget.
Also if Doeren gets the boot from NC St I would think he had a better chance at being the ECU coach than Kill.

Never say never when Ole Jiff is at the helm.
Kill was not a winner here, he rode the coattails of Novak, the level of play and players dropped while he was here. He got bowl games because its almost impossible not to if you go 500.

I feel for ya, getting stuck with Jiff. I doubt Kill will be coaching due to the health issues.
Although Doeren went to NC State, he should be a consideration.
I would be prepared to look for the Idaho football head coach to fill this position.

Many, if not all, of us NIU fans were happy when you hired Jiff from us. He's the same guy who didn't conduct a coaching search and instead hired the awful head coach we have now.

Scotty Montgomery has three wins at ECU in two years and one of the three was over NC State. Y'all can him back if State fires we don't want him lol. Plus NC State is our arch rival. I would be happy with coach Kill though.
