Had been moved to Friday night, originally. Now canceled, as of 2+ hours ago. Probably the best thing to do.

Uh ... no.

Edit: Uh, yes. As of 9 a.m. EST this morning. Wasn't on local TV or media last night or early this morning.

Memphis team was told when our team plane got to the airport late last night. Took an hour or two to confirm, then we turned around and flew home. Media guys were told, and Savoie was the first to post a tweet. He's a Memphis radio sports analyst.

I doubt anybody got it online for a story, or on TV until this morning, but it happened late last night, for sure.

We were told it came from the Florida governor's office, which was concerned about spectators safely traveling back and forth to the game, in the middle of such a huge evacuation.
Can Memphis just fly to UConn or take a bus to Arkansas St? Those schools were planning on hosting some football games this weekend

Nah, the cancellation was too late to make alternate plans. The game had been moved from Saturday to Friday night, and we had already flown the team to Orlando on a charter late Thursday night, and the equipment trucks was well on its way there.

The FL governor called it off around midnight Thursday night. So the team turned around at the airport and flew back home.

Playing UConn made no sense, b/c we play them later this year.

Playing Arky State made no sense, b/c we would be subbing an OOC game for a conference game, which might be made up later if either of us is in the running for a division title.

But only way that would likely work would be for the AAC to moves its CCG back a week, which then bumps into the Army-Navy game.

So for now, we're just stuck.
