I thought Trian was from Australia.

I hope he's better than Trian. If he's as good as VV, even better.
A big Monarch welcome to Alfls!!!! Can't wait watch him on the court.

Lol, yeah Trian is from Australia, but with a name like Illiadis it can get confusing.
I'll take a wait and see attitude on him. Some players from overseas have panned out, others haven't. I'm curious, where any other schools (and I mean school equal to or better than us) in the mix for him?
Trian was raised in Australia but his parents were from Greece. If I remember correctly.
^ correct
Not excited... YET. Let's see how he does against American competition.
Ed Mil.er seems to think he will play day 1. Hes getting that from someone

Thank you.

Can we now return to talking about today's Sleek Greek???
Worst that can happen is a bust, which is still better than an empty scholarship. Not excited per se (we'll see), but not critical of the move either.

If you are looking for more info on him, his full name is: Alfredos Alexandros Pilavios. He plays on both the U18 Greek National team and a U18 Greece 3X3 team (3 v 3 is being added to the 2020 Olympics). He seems to play well in space due to the fact that he is on the 3 on 3 team and he shoots over 2 3s a game despite playing less than 20 minutes for the U18 team.

Note he is only 17.5 years old (3rd youngest player on the Greek U18 team) but Greece has a pretty strong international basketball program. For reference, the top kid on the Greek U18 team from two years ago was a lottery pick last year for the Kings and most of the kids end up in top international leagues if not the NBA. At the very least, this kid is coming in with experience playing against relatively high levels of competition.
The kid drafted by Sacramento (Papagiannis) actually played his high school ball in Pennsylvania. He was suppose to sign with Temple but elected to go overseas to Greece for a year instead. Just a little misleading as his game was molded in the States. I'm sure the Temple guy will pop up soon and give us the scoop.
