If we win the first three games of the season (absolutely possible), my expectations will be ridiculously and obviously too high for the rest of the season. I got a little excited just reading that part.

Hard to take the author seriously when he says things like this, though:

Quote:The only teams I would be a little shocked if we beat are La Tech, Middle Tennessee and UTSA.

How is Florida not in this group?

He prefaces it by saying that there are other teams UAB could beat this year, so he's probably just counting Florida as an L and moving on.
If we get a W out of the Tech, MTSU, and UTSA group I'll be thrilled. Those are likely the three best teams in our conference this season.

Yeah, MTSU is a tough draw from the east.
While I'm cautiously optimistic, remember while we play 5 of the worst FBS teams and a FCS team, those teams are checking UAB off as a win(too?). We can't take anyone for granted. Typically, teams tend to lose a game they shouldn't and win one the shouldn't. So, if we take it a game at a time and take each opponent seriously I think we'll be OK...
The greatest unknown for UAB is how well FBHC Clark can weld a talented group of players into a TEAM that plays at a high level. We won't know this for sure until they actually play another school's team. There are only a couple of teams on our 2017 schedule that will have a talent advantage on us, but none that we CAN'T possibly beat. That is why games are played on the field, not on paper.

Remember that in 2000, UAB was asked prior to the season which OOC game they wished to designate as a proxy conference game. We chose Kansas instead of LSU and the rest of the story was played out in Blazer history. BTW, I don't recall that LSU lost another game that season and two years later won the NC. I also don't think LSU has lost another OOC home game since UAB in 2000.
Non Thread Related. Thank You, I know Sam Hunt is the Darling of UAB. Listen to please to Brandon Kelley, You Don't know my Game, it would be a great Song For UAB to come out to. Please Listen plus this is how Love Goes and Foot on the Floor, If I may. If that's Ok thank your for non compliance.
