CMN and staff has done it again. Landed a big P5 talent heading into camp. Reminds me of WR Coxie situation last year. I'm still hoping we pick up a last minute DE or LB.

Nice get for next year.
Solid! Thanks for posting.
Internet says he's a top line add for Memphis. Love these football recruiters / coaches.
If by some miracle DB Alec Long qualifies, we will have some sick talent in the secondary.
Tigers were willing to take a high 3 star which will not be eligible this year. While Auburn is iffy on 3 stars to start with. They sure will not waste a spot on a 3 star which will not be eligible for another year. So they sent him off to JUCO.

But he got lost on his way to that JUCO school and found his way to Tigertown.

WELCOME to the jungle.
For the record --- He's a 4 star at Scout. 03-wink

Kinda negates your point that he signed with Auburn and had been offered by Ohio State, Kentucky and South Carolina with Bama and Clemson also showing interest. 03-shhhh
It is a terrfic catch by our energetic, can-do staff. 04-cheers

Does anyone know the latest on Alec or the other Jackson Liberty Tech player, Elijah Harris?

He's a pretty highly rated three star. It would be fair to call him a borderline 4*/3*.

Not at all. They were willing to take a highly rated 3 star IF HE QUALIFIED.

But once it looked as if he would not qualify they sent him off to JUCO and other cooled their interest.

SEC changed their rules on non qualifiers in 2008 so he could have stayed at Auburn if they wanted him badly. And if he were a 5 or 4 star mist likely he would have been offered the chance.
I think Alec will grayshirt and enroll in January.

And hints or idea when we'll announce?

Ya, we are not Auburn and do not have nearly as many recruiting advantages as they do. Undoubtedly, if we get a chance to take a former Auburn recruit we absolutely have to take him, even if he has to sit a year.
This Dude can run a great POST pattern
