1) we are going to push for bigger more major bowls the next bowl signing cycle even if it means less money or giving the p5 a bigger cut..his priority will be opponent not money
https://twitter.com/USFCollin/status/887364639339753473

2) facebook, twitter, google and an unnamed other digital partner are all interested in the AAC. the creation of the SEC/ACC network is taking away all the content from conglomerate synidcators who now see the AAC as viable replacements and he says theres real money there..so we have options and bidders if espn isn't fully committed

I'm not sure I favor giving the high revenue leagues more $$$

I can see where this is headed.....we offer a 30/70 money split to get P5 opponents and then end up with .500 or worse P5 dregs in our bowls.....pass
Sounds like he is full of hope, but that's it.

Do you guys read it differently?
Hmmm...maybe the $8-10 Million range is attainable...

With multiple networks I think is doable too

This is a direct shot at ESPN, if you ask me...Mike Aresco to ESPN - Other networks are showing interest in the AAC

Definitely. It's also telling for ESPN to not have a single story on their website regarding the AAC/media days. I think a break-up may be in our future.

That would the the best thing that could happen to you folks. I am sure many here would change their tune if that happens. Most on this board seem to be willing to give up their first born daughters to stay on ESPN.

I think the $ is much more important at this point (especially with the Big East war-chest coming to an end). Viewership can grow unlike money on trees.

the link says for only good p5s that he doesn't want 6-6 p5

8-4 is probably the best we could get. Not sure if that's worth it either.

its that or nothing ...our champ vs #10 SEC in bham likely 6-6 team but get 50% (6-6 south carolina)...or play the #6 SEC likely 8-4 ona 70/30 divide (8-4 Georgia or A&M)... im taking 70/30 8-4 Georgia

If Aresco can get a serious $ bump in the TV contract then I'm okay with 70/30 8-4 Georgia. If not, we need the 50/50 $ IMO.

Absolutely. We need at least ONE bowl game in our line up that is a clear step above all the rest to serve as the guaranteed post season destination for our champ in the years we don't get the access bowl.

I think NBC is going to be a player and I think they would be an ideal destination. Some crap OTA syndicated network is an absolutely awful destination for anything more than third tier---and even then It's only viable if there is a robust streaming option connected to the package. If we move away from ESPN--I'd prefer NBC as tier one with the top 30 games. CBS-Sports with a 15-20 game package. Tier three can go to a streamer or a syndicated network with a streaming option. Even ESPN Regional (which was basically ESPN's syndication arm) was horrible. Syndication is not a good exposure option for us and frankly---doesn't really pay all that well (that's why they have lost thier content).
I think we will keep ESPN but not for 100% of the deal. I think he is correct with the ACC and SECnetworks, there is going to be room for AAC.

If he can get an 8 million tv deal and a better bowl vs an 8-4 SEC team that would be a good result

At this point in the league's development, I would agree.
.
He also blurted out that Temple and Miami (FLA) have scheduled a H & H. Temple sources have stated a contract for such is not signed at this point in time.

I have not heard anyone here who feels that way. I would like to keep a piece on Espn, but have no problems going elsewhere. I think most here feel that unless ESPN blows us away we should break out a real 3 tier system and sell it as such.

exactly, He is talking of a higher ranking bowl, not the type we already have vs P5. Like gator, liberty, champs ect.
