Can't really see a strong argument for a different ranking. Our QB situation will be the difference.
That closely resembles what we have going on the main CUSA boards with users putting in their ranks. The only difference is UTEP and Rice are switched. We also combined the divisions.

In our short history, our best shot at a rival is Charlotte. We just need them to get better

2 years ago was a pretty good game. The end of the 4th quarter was awesome.

Its because of the QB situation. We appear to have some good options, but we really have no idea. The best guy could be as good or worse than SB. Not saying that its likely, but since we don't know its still a possibility.

Pretty much. If ODU had senior Taylor Heinicke, perhaps ODU is the runaway East pick. Without knowing who's under the center and what he'll do once he pulls out (phrasing), getting a handle on how good or not good the Monarchs will be this season is not a play for the wise gambler.
If we had a Sr QB that was proven... we'd be the east pick. completely agree. But as we saw before with a unknown directing the game we went from potential disaster season to a bowl with DW at the helm.
Is LaRussa definitely the starter? Who is #2?

The QB position is wide open right now. LaRussa is the only QB with game action.

I count Hoy as having more game action than anyone. Actually playing for a whole season can't be simulated in practice even if our players practice with more talent than Hoy faced all year.

Whoever is the QB is going to have so many options it's not even funny. Throw the ball up and let Duhart and Fulgam go after it, along with so much other WR talent. And when the QB needs a break give it to Lawry and Cox. Besides football games are won and lost on the line, both Offensive and defensive. I think we really shine at both. I am looking forward to shutting some people up this year.

I think Hoy will surprise everyone, When Ron would talk about his potential when he committed to ODU, he would get very excited.
I also think the difference is in his legs, elusiveness, his ability to scramble and extend the play will set him apart from SB. In comparison to Bentley, he was not the most elusive in the pocket. It was even evident with his HS Film. They had a massive OL at Byrnes, they were a powerhouse when it came to their front line and that allowed him to have lots of time for the play to develop.
Hoy also lead one of the best JR. College teams in the Country. Not only to a winning record, but to a "National Championship.

Time will tell and I belive it will take time to learn Wilder system. The other very import part of the equation will be his personality and leadership ability. I know that the other players will also have to trust him, and that takes time. I think he will prove to be a true leader and will step in and be another QB that Monarch Nation Football will look back on and say how PROUD we all are that he was a Monarch.
