First off, someone posted that they read on the JMU board that the CAA was blackballed by ESPN -- but I could not find that on the JMU board nor can I even find the one on our own board. So please tell us the name of the thread where you saw that on the JMU board.

The link below was also on the JMU board. It sounds good on the face of it but I, for one, am not sure it will make much difference for the vast majority of mid-majors. In fact, in my mind it just solidifies the position of the mediocre P5s because it gives them credit for road games against their top echelon P5 conference-mates. Even if they don't win those games, they get some credit for them --- probably just enough credit to continue to inch them past a deserving mid-major. True, the P5s have always played such conference games but this new method sounds like a way to validate and justify the credit that they have always gotten for them.

Probably helps power 5 schools more than mid-majors. Power 5 schools have more opportunities for decent or better road wins
while mid majors have to cash in on their 2 or 3 opportunities at quality road wins for the entire season, unless they luck out and have a conference that also has a good RPI opponent like Gonzaga & St. Mary's last season.

If they really wanted to help mid-majors, they would factor in the number of road games you play. Tired of so many power 5 schools getting in because they play 2/3 of their games at home (cough...cough... Syracuse) and end up getting 1 or 2 marquee wins and then beating nothing but bad teams the rest of the season.

The fact of the matter is that mid-majors will always be in trouble because if they have 1 bad game against a bad team, their RPI suffers significantly. If the same happens to a power conference team, their RPI doesn't go down that much + they have the opportunity to make up for it against a good opponent later on.
Here's the thread where they said we were blacklisted,

Thanks nj alum, and thanks also to TribePride52!
ESPN has not blacklisted CAA, that is nonsense. They did our media day last year on ESPN 3. Something must have happened that caused the deal in the making to fall apart
If it's on a message board without any sourcing at all it must be true.
