Update:
Thorpe Award Watchlist - Clifton Duck, App State
Surely that must be Larry Rose the IV by now, lol. What is that guy, like a 12th year senior? JK, great player, wish him well.

That's what I thought...has to be his 6th or 7th year...I think they're trying to slip one by on us...AGAIN...
I wouldn't count the Wuerffel in the list of players by schools as teams can nominate whoever they wish, hence the five from Texas State.

Every weekend players go do something:
cleaning up Rivers
clearing flood damage along river banks
rebuilding flood damaged homes
repairing/upgrading homes
reading to kids in school
tutoring
game days for daycares and summer schools
mini football clinics for summer schools and the general population
visiting nursing homes
helping at food banks
distributing food to elderly and shut ins
visiting people in hospitals
etc.
Most are player planned or initiated

nominations Earned!

Exactly. Kudos to them for being good people, but I'd like to see which schools have which athletes on these lists. I think that is what most people are interested.

P.S. Eagle fans feeling a bit left out? You guys lose that much talent?

That's great and all, but it's still school nominated. I bet you Texas State leads the nation with five on that list, while schools did the normal one.

If you want an accurate count of players on watch lists, this one should be excluded.
UPDATED

I added the Johnny Unitas Award Watch List and the Davey O' Brien Watch List. I also removed the Wuerffel Trophy from counting as total school nominations since it was mentioned that the schools choose their own players. Texas State nominated five players for the award, which was more than any other school on the list. Only one other school listed more than two players, and that was Notre Dame who nominated three. So the academic/service award watch lists will be separate from the athletic performance award watch lists.
I checked 3 years back. The Wuerffel was not differentiated from the other awards but, water under the bridge. 07-coffee3

You can check back whatever you want, but you're missing the point. Texas State could have nominated 85 guys if they wanted; that shouldn't be counted among the other watch list members who were SELECTED by the awards to be on there.

This reminds me of what a joke Academic All State was in high school, I imagine Academic All American is similar.
(wonders if other award guys are just picked at random or if schools send guys names in and then the committee select who they think deserves to be on list? anyone know?)

Wow, chill there guy. Aggravated much? I just made an observation.

Yes just about every major offensive and defensive player of note. Five or more are still on NFL rosters. BJ, Brieda, Eligwe, Gallon, Koo off the top of my head. They all would have made a list. I know Kwon made it to camp but didnt make it. This is a major reason why we wanted the coaching staff fired. That team was more talented and deeper than 2014 and 2015.

With the new OC and youth this year may start out slow but I will be looking forward to a strong finish and no excuses for the coaching staff left after the 2017 season. Probably for the AD as well.
UPDATE:

Doak Walker Award candidates added. I was really surprised to not see Jalin Moore on the list, but I guess that's because of the time he split with Marcus Cox last season?

This is without a doubt the most award nominations that Troy has ever had since joining FBS. I remember in 2009 we had about 5 or 6 players that were nominated for awards, but not the 8 that we have now. We certainly have never had a QB, RB, WR, and OL nominated all at once.
Matt Linehan is on the Unitas list. Kaden Ellis is on the list for this Wuerffel thing.
