Those lowest sideline seats arent very good for viewing the game anyhow, especially when you have coaches, players, etc standing up on the sidelines in front of you.
Agreed. All the seats that are blocked off I would not want to sit in them any way.
Exactly AB. And it's not like they're tarping the whole FN stadium like they do at Rice. I like it. Now we need to have a "Thirsty Thursday" $2 beer night sponsored by the local breweries. Lord knows we needed one of those the last Rice game of the McGee era. 03-drunk

I like the tarp they use at rices stadium. I think it makes it a whole lot better than it it were empty seats.
That area should be reserved for the pretty ladies who only showed up to show off their new outfits. Or just demo the seats and and a new bar area. 05-stirthepot

In the spirit of "raise the bridge or lower the water", how about doing what a couple of stadiums have done by lowering the playing field to improve site lines for lower row seats - making them more valuable?

The subsurface water table is so high in Jones Valley that this solution may not be feasible even if the money was available. (I 59/20 west of the Arkadelphia exit was rebuilt on a subsurface bridge because of this (caused some sink holes).

this is possibly the dumbest post in the history of BlazerTalk...and that includes every conversation that included BlazerSax
This may need to go to a vote.

Nah, not even close. Blazersax was a whole 'nother lever of stupid, naive and flippant rolled into one like I've never seen before or since. This post by BNB might not even have made Blazersax's dumbest post of the week most weeks.
I hate I joined the website too late to read the posts of the legendary BlazerSax. Sounds like quite the character.

Being frightened by sorority girls may be my favorite sax thread

I searched a bit but didn't know how the derailed threads are titled. Even the George Teague thread has been trimmed by half i suspect.

One of my favorites too. If I remember correctly, he got mad and left a basketball game early because sorority girls were yelling at him for standing up during the game. He was so upset, he stopped and ate a whole lot of ice cream on the way home.

For those of you who weren't around in those days, you may be wondering why so much is known about him. Because Sax was an open book who self admitted many embarrassing facts about his life. We knew every bit of drama in his life, from his fights with his parents, his drug use, his scholarship situation, his lack of sports knowledge, everything. There was interventions, cyberbullying (justified), exasperation, and actual mentoring. Then he went off to join the marines and was never heard of again.
A while back someone posted a picture of him and it appears the marines made a useful adult out of him
As i recall, the Park Board missed the cheapest opportunity to lower the playing surface when they had to dig down about 6' to lay the concrete base for the "prescription turf" (real grass) for the 1996 Olympic Soccer games. Had they gone a couple or 3 feet lower, those sideline seats might still be useful.
