North Texas opened the gates to Apogee Stadium bright and early Thursday morning, when several hundred linemen flooded in.

By mid-afternoon, the Mean Green's coaching staff had seen more than 1,000 players come through the doors for the UNT Elite Camp. UNT coach Seth Littrell and his staff couldn't have been happier with the turnout for one of the program's biggest recruiting events of the summer.

UNT hosted the camp that also featured members of the coaching staffs from Oregon, Oklahoma and Rice, one of the Mean Green's rivals in Conference USA.

Im still leary that we teamed up with those other schools, especially Oklahoma and Rice, but it sounds like NT got lots of good exposure by hosting it.
UNT is going to be to be at Rice's camp today in Houston, along with Oregon and OU.

So it was a trade off.
We got a lot of kids on campus who never would have attended if OU and Oregon were not there. That can be a huge benefit to recruiting players now and in the future when some kids want to transfer from a bigger school back to a school closer to home.
the key thing is getting them to see the campus.
I didnt realize we were doing that trade with Rice. Okay, im a fan of this deal now. Getting to look at 2000 prospects in 2 days is pretty good. And getting 1100 campus visits on your day to host is fantastic.

Seems like a smart move for both programs. If you get wind on how it went, please post an update. 04-cheers
