Brought over from SU forum. Oak View group wins arena bid and will rebuild Key Arena. SU will play a few seasons in 999 seat Connolly Center, then move into state of the art new NBA Key Arena

I only see this happening if the league expands.

Second, the NBA owners don't want to have to split the pie up even more. Third, a bigger market allows the Blazers to keep their stars from going elsewhere because Portland isn't that big of a sports market and what superstar wants to come or stay in Portland. Lastly, the league is really only in position to add one team right now and it would throw off the numbers in the divisions and conferences.
I am sure the Arizona Coyotes to Seattle rumors will begin again.

On campus arena was renovated just 2 years ago. They recently extended the lease with Key (before all this) but Im not sure how long or if they will need to renegotiate a new one
