Full Version: Bearcat football made the big board in Vegas

Checked a few casino sportsbooks on my trip to Vegas last week. Many did not list the Cats on their Future's to win the National Championship in 2017. But I did find one.

I placed $5 on the Bearcats at 1000-1 to win it all. I don't think I had ever seen a team listed at 1000-1.
was it at the Westgate?

Spent two great Stanley Cup days at the Westgate, but no, UC did not make their board. I found the 1000-1 odds at the Hard Rock.

The Westgate renovation looks fantastic now with updated screens and nice leather chairs throughout the facility. The resolution on the two biggest screens is unbelievable. They also have a non-smoking 'Cave' area that plays the alternative sound for the big screen that is not being offered in the main room. The deli was still being redone but they did provide snacks and pre-made food in a temporary kiosk.
$5 at a thousand to one...hell I'd take a ridiculously unwarranted flier on that too 04-cheers

Just love the fact it is one thousand to one. lol - thanks Tommy.

It will be interesting to see what the odds will be in just a couple more years.
That's the "Big Fick" effect, we're in the book baby!
In early September, I put $20 on UC to win the NC in 2009 just for grins at MGM Grand. I think it was like 100:1. Little did I know it would drag out to the night of the B12 CG watching Nebraska choke our chances away to Texas.
I'm fairly comfortable taking the Over for UC

So the betters are setting the market at bowl eligibility. I think that's fair...though my prediction would be 7 wins.

That over under bet looks like free money....which historically usually ends up meaning I am left scratching my head wondering how the hell Vegas knew.

I'd say they are off by 2 games but then again, what do I know?

Let's pool our money and buy ourselves a gamblin' token. We can spend our winnin's on a pair of them short pants them kids are all talkin about these days. We'll be rich as astronauts I tells ya!
I'm not high on our prospects for this season, but if we did nothing other than beat Tulane and Miami and win HOME games against Austin Peay, SMU, and Marshall that's already 5. So you'd be house money for winning any other game. I have to think we'll also be favored at Nippert against UCONN and maybe even Temple/UCF. Odds are we lose 1 at most of those 1st 5 I mentioned.
