Full Version: CBU Season Ticket Sales Launch

Lancers fans get info about ordering MBB & WBB season tickets here, in what looks to be a kind of cool pricing structure. Season tickets do not require a donation, but it appears CBU has built in some sweet incentive for those who do voluntarily contribute.

Great job building the buzz, Lancers athletics. Keep that momentum up! We'll see you soon over here in the WAC.
That arena looks so nice. I am looking forward to see what the finished product is. I don't think they have revealed it yet.
I'd like to see them play UCR...assuming UCR will schedule them. I might consider making the trip for that if it's a weekend.

Would be a great rivalry and OOC rivals have been great for WAC schools like SU (EWU, UW), NMSU (UTEP, UNM) and UTRGV (TAMUCC, extends into every sport). Since the only WAC rivalry outside this board is GCU-NMSU, OOC rivals are much needed.

Along with UCR, I hope Cal Baptist and Bakersfield start a rivalry
CSUB-NMSU is not a rivalry? I would say it is at this point. Two buzzer beaters and two split championships the last two years. That's the game non-WAC fans will tune into to. No way GCU-NMSU is a bigger rivalry. CSUB-GCU is growing as well. The women's teams got into a bench clearing fight and the men's teams cleared benches in the season finale which was triggered by a hard flagrant and then later some jawing. All of the big 3 rivalries are pretty fun.

I havent seen it talked about as a rivalry much outside this board. Or seen fans go after each other on social media like NMSU/GCU (or certain members of this board going after players Moms). But who knows how the players feel, it easily could be one. Definitely has become one on the board, ill say that.

I said it when they were added, and will continue to be all for a WAC Holy War between GCU & CBU. CBU is already following the GCU blueprint, right down to the "Live Your Purpose" slogan. I agree models of their arena are nice. I just liked it better when it was built in Phoenix and named GCU arena. (...though I am low-key jealous of the 4-sided video board that hangs over the court. Nice touch.)

Let me guess, CBU: 2000 seat upper level expansion in a couple years? Hahaha

What the hell is this about?
^^^ Might be referring to the spat Frank had w/Dewayne Russell's mom. She buried him, bruh! It was incredible! Hahahahaha
Hahahahaha amazing. Doesn't surprise me Frank would do something as scummy as that.

I will just say this: No matter how noble the reason, the correct response when you are trash talking a player's mom and she says you're probably a middle-aged man who still lives with his parents is not, "I don't live with my parents! They live with me!" It might be factual and I respect the he'll out of him for it, but it's not the road you want to go down in THAT conversation.

But back to those CBU ticket sales, my advice to their fans (if any ever show up here) is get those courtside season tickets now. I just inquired about getting 2 for GCU courtside and was put on a waiting list with about 100 names ahead of mine. Ticket office said they only had 2 people not renew their courtside seats from 2015-16 to 2016-17. At that rate, i might be able to enjoy the courtside view when I'm in my mid-80s. Hahahaha

Imma need a link. It would be amazing to see Frank get dragged for once.

These arenas look almost the same except for the video board and the unique logos. Honestly don't get why we don't have one at this point how many people fit into the arena.

EDIT: I know GCU is already looking at the plan for a new arena because the waitlists for tickets are so long and they don't really want to raise ticket prices, but they still wanna get people in for games.

I hate to break it to you Clarity and I'm not trying to provoke you but no one in Las Cruces other than the hard core fans that post here think CSUB is a rivalry. GCU is developing into a rivalry because their students and Dan Majerle are always obsessively talking about NMSU and trolling NMSU fans on twitter. Also, NMSU has lot's of alum in Phoenix, it's only 5 hours between Cruces and Phoenix and GCU brings the Havocs to the Pan Am and their zeal has gotten the NMSU students riled up toward GCU. NMSU fans even show a decent showing in Phoenix. Close games and fights in a game don't make a rivalry (eg, no one in Cruces cares about Utah Valley). Unfortunately, fans in Cruces still live in the past and dream about UNLV in the conference and we have our 100 year + rivalries with Utep and UNM (especially now). I wish NMSU fans would develop some "hatred" toward WAC teams but CSUB is not viewed as a rival by 99.999% of the fans. That's a fact.

GCU should have built a 12000 seat arena with the ticket prices they have. They would fill up the place. Are they really thinking about building a bigger arena? That actually might backfire. Look at Gonzaga. They have a 6000 seat arena. I think the 7200 size seat arena is perfect for GCU.
I'm with dancing, in that 7200 is a nice size for GCU. It's intimate. It's loud. It's everything it needs to be at this point. Bigger isn't always better, and there are plenty of big time programs with modest sized buildings. Gonzaga is one. Heck, Cameron Indoor only seats just over 9000. There are still plenty of tickets to be had for any given GCU game, so talks of a bigger building might be a little premature.
It wouldn't be something that was immediate and I don't know how big they would go, I just know that they have looked at it. I'm my opinion, something around 9-10 thousand seats would be as big as I would go because right now it has 7000 seats and probably room for another 600 people with standing room.

I don't necessarily think it is a bad to expand up to 12000 if the campus grows like they want it to, but I wouldn't do it right now. And I would counter your Duke and Gonzaga reference by saying Allen Fieldhouse, Rupp Arena, And the YUM! Center all get loud and they are all over 16000 capacity.

Hell the student section was flipping us off and swearing at us last year when we weren't nearly as good as we are going to be. I don't know if they felt threatened or what. I personally like our "Save the kid" chant that we get going when we see a kid walking in in the opposing teams colors.

Like I said 49, the majority (not you) of your Havocs are a annoying arrogant bunch and lot's of them are always trolling NMSU fans and constantly talking trash about NMSU, Las Cruces, etc. That's why NMSU students were acting like they do toward the Havocs. It has noting to do with seeing you guys as a threat. The fact is NMSU students are a spiritless unimaginative unsupportive clueless bunch in general when it comes to Aggie athletics and are clueless that you guys think ur some kind of threat and the next Gonzaga. They probably couldn't name any other team other then GCU in the WAC cause you bring so many fans to Phoenix (thousands according to your purple propaganda machine). BTW, your fans in Phoenix treated us like garbage in Phoenix (except for Lopesup who came over to greet us, really classy), including the GCU ticket office. I KNOW GCU see's NMSU as their number one goal in life to beat NMSU for the WAC title.
