We have 2 of the top 11 long snappers(10th and 11th) in this year's class in camp this fall. Do we let them fight it a out all year or does one get redshirted after fall camp?

Or do we RS both and go with our RS Soph who was 13th in the nation in 2015.

Guess we are now known as Long Snapper U.
Only possible negative is we start the year with ZERO game experience at the position.
I'm more concerned with our DB's as opposed to long snappers. Rip, though, understood the importance.
I feel better about our secondary this season than I have in a LONG time.

Speed and physicality, depth at safety AND corner, guys who can play both, ball hawks. Coaches Chris Ball, Marcus Woodson and Reggie Howard.

Hated to see Marcus Green go down this Spring but he's already rehabbing after surgery. Should be back by by UCLA.

Plus, they work against a helluva offense in practice and scrimmages.
We just need to convert one of them into an all-conference/future NFL TE. Presto, problem solved.

That's grea news, I know our defensive secondary was identified as a priority in recruiting, I'm psyched to hear that we have have talented depth this year.
Try to post a positive and all people can do is look for negative.

You snapped at people first.

Interesting (and encouraging) post.

All of the pundits seem to have the secondary as our one big question mark going into this season.

If they really are better this year, then it could be a really fun year.

We are going to be tough to beat.

Post # 2 was the first "negative" post in this thread.
One more thing, we'll have a healthy Jackson Dillon coming off the edge like a wild man and a legitimate pass rush. As CMN has previously stated, "we can't give the opposing QB time to sit back there and eat a slice of pizza."

Honestly...

Who really cares...You can build a serviceable long snapper in the offseason. Much bigger concerns on this squad.

Can you build a serviceable long snapper which goes 4 year career without without a single bad snap in a single off season???? A lot of Elliot's accomplishments were due to fact he knew the ball was going to be there.

It is difficult to build a long snapper in one offseason and have him never miss a snap but yes you can EASILY build a reliable long snapper in a full year especially if they are specialized.

Especially with the rules now on allowing virtually no contact with the snapper.

Back in my day, you had to keep one eye on the kicker, and the other eye on the guy with a 3 yard head start fixing to take your head off.
oldmangrizz? Stiff competition c'mon

Good Question, what would a guy named TG4 know about defensive backs?
