All of you Society of Creative Anachronism playas need to get to Triune this month.

Tennessee Renaissance Festival kicks off this weekend at the Big Castle in Triune just off 840 at US 41 exit. Just east of Franklin. Lots of wenches and smoked turkey legs.

"He who is valiant and pure of spirit may find the Holy Grail in the Castle of aaarrrrggh"

"Now go away or I will taunt you a second time!"

I'm not SCA, but I'd love to be there for this one.
Probably very few folks know where Triune is. I do because my wife grew up on Almaville Road.
I have a slot car buddy in Nolensville.
I didn't know they sword fighted in Audubon Park. Like a club? Of swordspeople? wooden ones or real ones?

As far as Triune goes...I never heard of that or Nolensville.
NERDS!

Right at the corner of Goodlett and Southern. We used to pull over and smoke a fat doobie and watch those people beat the crap out of each other. Seems like the swords were made of wood but I could be wrong.

The Society for Creative Anachronisms, Barony of Grey Niche. I was briefly a member but never fought. It's still very active, many are friends of mine.
Why do they wanna hit each other with antiquated wooden sticks, though?

Because swords and axes cause too much damage.

Seriously.

It's the same as someone being a re-enactor of the Roman Army, German Army, U.S. Army, Civil War...they stage fights based on medieval technology. It is not at all rare for someone to be seriously hurt during a combat, although that may have changed in more recent decades.

I know they used to get together with folks from other regions and have wars. I don't know if they still do.
lol why do they want to hit each other at all?
John the Bearkiller could whip 10 guys at a time with a stick in each hand. It was amazing to watch.

LOL...probably still can. Sounds like we know a lot of the same people. By the way, Green Ghost is now happy with you right now.
