Very disappointed. Looking at many of the late round selections I couldn't help but think our guys stacked up much better. Any thoughts on why they were passed over?
I wonder how many players who were invited to the combine did not get drafted?

As I post this there are 6 selections left. Really they hope they don't get called at this point.

Very disappointing.

Any thoughts?
Zach is bigger and faster than Isaiah Ford from VT that just got drafted. No respect. Still can't say we have anyone drafted. That is pretty poor.
Probably a better situation for them. Free agent= pick where you go!
Coward signs with Bears as UDFA
Very disappointing! UNCC somehow got a 3rd round pick. There are alot of FCS schools that got draft picks.

Looks like our team will need to go into 2017 with a chip on its should and finish 13-0 with a bowl win over a perennial Power 5 program!

Despite the NFL not showing our guys any love, I still love our team!!!

Go get em in 2017!!

Go Monarchs!!!!
Charlotte, GA ST, GA Southern, Coastal Carolina and CAA beat us with getting guys drafted this year.
Da Bears. Poor guy!
Zach Pascal signs with the Redskins. HTTR
I no nothing about pro scouting, just curious that some receiver from "East Central" was picked in the 7th round by the Seahawks as opposed to someone like Pascal who played FBS. What in the world is East Central, an NAIA school? Wish him well with the Skins.
Just as with most things, sometimes getting drafted in the NFL depends on who your coach/agent knows in the front office of a team.
Hail to Zach! Hail to the Redskins! HTTR!!!!!!

There are about 1500 NFL players.
There are about 1000 guys sitting at home that are as good as the bottom 500. It's a crap shoot.

I lifted this link from another post dealing with basketball, but I believe it pertains to football as well. We need to have some kids drafted to keep up in recruiting.
One thing I noticed was many of the kids who were selected in later rounds did not seem to have measurables that compared well with Zach and Rashaad. What many of them did have were All-Conference awards, usually 2nd or 3rd team. Do our kids get shafted in this area?

I am a former NFL agent and I can tell you that there is no prejudice toward ODU with regard to the draft. There were many C-USA picks, but none of our players stood out the way that the drafted C-USA players did. Regarding FCS players being drafted, there is something special about the ones drafted and they dominated in their leagues. Pascal is a solid prospect but does not stand out in one particular area and did not really dominate in C-USA. Same for Rashaad Coward. He did not dominate in C-USA but he has some special speed and agility that teams find intriguing. They will now have their chances to shine as UDFA. If either Pascal or Coward were as good as the other C-USA players drafted, they would have been drafted. It has nothing to do with ODU per se.
Respect your experience. However, I can't believe there was any appreciable difference between Zach and Rashaad and any other players drafted in rounds 6-7. No one in those rounds "stands out". Am I wrong?

Rounds 6 and 7 are crap shoots. You never know what players have caught a coach's eye or what they are looking for. Usually these rounds include players that a team thinks has untapped potential, and there are a couple hundred in that group. There is very little difference between a 7th round pick and priority UDFA. There are a couple hundred in that category, and it is like a lottery. 35/200 are the approximate odds, so about a 15 percent chance your ping pong ball gets selected.
These guys will make us proud. I bet Pascal becomes the guy returning punts and kickoffs next year for the Redskins. Bears will move Coward all over the line and get a sack on my boy Rodgers. They got on a chip on their shoulders now
