ULM's first conference championship in any sport since 1924.
Congrats Warhawks.
I think ULM has the best winning percentage in all of women's tennis currently. #1 Florida is 23-3. ULM is 16-1. Could possibly be 18-1 if their games gainst UTA an Alcorn State wouldn't have been postponed.

Unfortunately, ULM isn't even ranked. They could possibly be ranked when the ITA poll comes out tomorrow though.

Congrats ULM!
Remember when ULM had that girl finish her career 63-4...?? Never made it to the NCAAs and probably had the highest winning percentage of all-time in collegiate women's tennis for a single season, let alone a career?

No offense to the young lady, but that says a lot about what they used to schedule and slot their roster...

Ultimately, ULM has continually taken steps forward and beating a top 40 Tulane and even going into SMU to get a win shows that they are playing "up" instead of half the schedule being those from the dredges of the Southland and SWAC like they used to.
TT why don't you ever come to bobcatfans anymore? No point anymore since we moved out of the Southland?

Good one. It has been a while in women's sports for sure. I think we won baseball in 2012 or near there. The tournament at least.

Factually it's the first Sun Belt conference title for any ULM women's athletic team. Last year the women's tennis team was probably just as good but injuries reduced us to only five players going into the conference tournament. This year we had increased depth and the team's conditioning was tremendous. Our ladies weren't near as tired at the end as South Alabama's were. Still, it was a nail-biter of a final and USA threw everything they had at us, almost pulling it off!

The Warhawk women's soccer and softball teams have also improved greatly in the last two years. Don't know if they'll ever win conference but they're going to win (and have won) a lot of games.

The week after we beat Tulane we appeared in the rankings. I think we've been as high as 40th.
