So I was doing my daily reading of forums to see if we had any news about our upcoming schedule and came across this nugget (see below). So it appears we do have P5's coming to play some home games at the Bill.

"So I just saw our AD Mccaw interviewed by York and Mccaw mentioned that we have power 5 schools plural coming to play us in Lynchburg. Most likely? Wake, NC State, Duke, Vandy, Miss. St.?"

Thank you for the video. It confirms what I saw on the sea of red forum. I'm wondering who the P5 will be. I'm thinking someone kind of close. We've played Wake Forest enough in the past to were that wouldn't surprise me if it was them. We do play then @Wake in 2019.
I keep checking the FBS schedules website hoping for an update. It doesn't surprise me that P5s are coming. What will surprise me is who of the P5 that will show up and that has yet to be announced. I don't want Liberty to do too many 2 for 1 or 1 and done deals where they are treated unevenly. Liberty isn't desperate for games and can afford to wait for a home/home.

Once we prove ourselves on the bottom line, our demand will go up and therefore our leverage.
Well, I understand and respect you reasoning. It is a food model. I've always been an "anytime, anyplace" type of guy.

I respect anytime, anyplace but it makes for bad business. I may prefer that viewpoint as a coach or player but as a fan I feel differently.
I would not be surprised if NCSU tries a multi H vs 1 with Liberty. They schedule ODU to get into the tidewater area. NCSU would love to have another opportunity to play in VA when VA and VA Tech are not in the rotation.

Wow! I should check my spelling. That should have said "good" not food. I do realize it's bad business for the most part.

You do realize a two for one or even a three for one simply means you get a payday game for that second game at the P5's home (3 for 1's give you two payday games). You already have mentioned that you realize you'll be doing at least one payday game at a P5's stadium with no return every season, so there is no difference. Now, if LU were to have no plans to take a payday from some P5, then you have reason to be ticked at having 2 for 1 deals.

ArmyMike, that was a hoot with the food vs. good comment. I got a real chuckle out of it, and now it makes much more sense, even though I did enjoy somewhat, in a quizzical manner, the food analogy.
Playing anyone, anywhere, as long as we are competitive is a good way to build a strong reputation, but not neccessarily a way to win games, seasons, or bowls. Ultimately winning will develop the reputation. I have seen schools play it both ways. Scheduling to win and develop your program is the best way, just maybe not the "toughest."
