I don't agree that he "lost" his position to Knight either. Looking at their stats they were pretty much equal in terms of per minute. Jack started all but five games.

Jack DID lose his starting job, but one could argue that it was a result of a late-season illness. My recollection is that Jack did not start any of the last handful of regular season games. He DID start the 2 tournament games, however.

Correct. He started every game but @ Drexel, @ Delaware, Hofstra, and Towson, which were 4 of the last 8 games.
Yeah, this season Jack was generally better than Knight, especially at the start of the year. By the end, they were almost on equal levels. IDK where Jack will end up, but I wish him the best of luck. Not sure how much he'll see the court at an ACC or top A10 school, but you never know.

I BELEAVE HE WAS SUFFERING FROM A CONCUSSION DURING 2 OF THE GAMES
When you just have two big men, I am not sure if it really means anything who's starting or not. Both played 20~25 min. per game which is quite the norm for college big men. I doubt Jack is transferring due to the lack of playing time. My guess is just a change of scenery since he probably got his degree from W&M.
Didn't someone say that his comments at the basketball dinner made it apparent that he and Shaver had some differences? I wasn't there, so that's simply repeating what I read elsewhere.
My guess is its as simple as he has fulfilled his commitment and graduated. Those from his class, who he is closest with, have graduated. He is looking for opportunities in other programs. I'm sure the coaches are not pleased, but I don't think there is necessarily bad blood there.

Agreed. We are also semi-rebuilding right now and maybe he doesnt have much hope in us making the tourney next year without DD or Omar...just looking for a better shot at it...
Again hate to see the CAA lose talent with CJ Bryce apparently a reality in asking for his release. Can't imagine Cacok doesn't follow. Talk about an about face in UNCW's path.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer team.
I heard from some friends in the coaching industry that Wake told Jack he'd be better off somewhere else. They think he's too similar to the guys they already have and are looking for a big guy with some more perimeter game.

He would be better off here, IMO. if he can swallow
his pride and come back and the coaches let him!!! Big iff there
There is Twitter talk that Jack is supposed to stop by UNC. Not that I faulted him before, but I certainly wouldn't fault him for an opportunity at UNC.
That would be a first!! UNC recruiting a Tribe player.

That would be a real shame. I always thought our players had standards. #cheating
Scout article says he has visits scheduled to UNC, GW, & Clemson.

Psst! Psst! They usually keep a few GPA kids on the bench to boost the team GPA average. Kentucky wanted Omar for the same reason.

He'll never start at UNC or Clemson and GW isn't a good destination for the 2017-2018 season. He needs to swallow his pride and put his Tribe uniform back on.

Jon Rothstein (of CBS Sports) tweeted today that Jack told him he was visiting UNC this week.

The Chapel Hill scenario is a little interesting/confusing on a couple levels. I don't know Jack at all so I don't know his primary goal. Is he more after the opportunity to be on a National Championship winning team or is it playing time or something else?

It's hard to believe he would get much/hardly any PT on the defending national champions who are stacked again next year, but he could be on a team that competes for the national title which definitely is an opportunity not really available at W&M.

Not sure why Carolina would offer him a scholarship space either honestly given what they have coming back and bringing in.

The other interesting thing is both Tony and Jonathan Holmes played for UNC and are tied into the Tarheel program. I'm sure Roy Williams or Hubert Davis or someone is reaching out to them to get their thoughts on Jack so I have no idea how those conversations would go or maybe the reason Jack is getting a visit at UNC is because Tony or Jonathan are helping him do it. I have no idea; it's just a really interesting scenario.

I agree with Tribal and TribeHeart that it would be ideal for Jack to suit back up for us next year and help us win the conference title. That would be an awesome legacy!
JW getting a chance to suit up for the Tarheels? That is an incredible option for him, if it works. How could you blame him.

Plus, they have a men's LAX team.
As much sense as it makes for jack to come back and finish out at W&M, I can't help but feel that ship has sailed.
Given Shaver's past comments on the lack of a relationship between MBB and the College's graduate programs, I don't think we could get him into a graduate program even he wanted to come back.
