Figured I'd just go ahead and start a thread since recruiting is well under way for 2018. I'm sure you all know we already have 3 commits and at least 2 of them look to be solid 3-star guys (for what stars are worth).

What I really wanted to post about was some interesting info I just saw on the interwebs. Apparently we're 1 of 13 final schools for this 4-star athlete/QB/CB, whatever he is, out of Houston. I don't know what kind of person he is, but apparently the guy can ball. We're the only non-power 5 school on the list. Though it may still be a long shot that he ends up going here, I think it shows how far along Phillip Montgomery and staff have brought our recruiting efforts in the last 3 years.

The other 12 schools he listed are: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, LSU, Oregon, Clemson, TCU, Alabama, Penn State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and USC. That's elite company right there.
We picked up our 4th commitment last night. Rivals rates him as a 2-star WR.

By Kelly Hines Tulsa World

"The University of Tulsa picked up a commitment Wednesday night from Peyton Sawyer, a wide receiver from League City (Texas) Clear Springs.

Sawyer, who is listed at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, announced the news on Twitter. He is the Hurricane's fourth pledge from the Class of 2018.

Last season, Sawyer had 48 catches for 817 yards and 10 touchdowns and also scored six TDs as a punt and kick returner. In one quarter last season, he returned two kickoffs at least 70 yards for touchdowns.

Sawyer also is a track standout, having won district and area championship meets as a hurdler.

TU's other commitments are from Jones defensive end Dalton May, Skiatook running back TK Wilkerson and Norton, Kansas, quarterback Jace Ruder.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Recruits can sign letters of intent in December or February."
