NORFOLK - Five members of the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team have earned postseason honors. Vance Johnson has been named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) All-Region Second Team.

Johnson, a 6’9” sophomore forward from Chicago, IL, was a force for Northeast this year. He led the Hawks in scoring and rebounds, averaging 13.6 points per game with a team-high 60.2 percent from the field. Johnson also led the team in total rebounds, averaging 9.0 per game.

Looks like a big bruiser we can definitely use. His offer list looks decent- NMSt, Evansville, and Milwaukee.

Looks like we are getting aggressive on recruiting in the late period. Losing records tend to do that.

Also looking at Juco's for the "quick" fix. I've always felt that is our best route to higher level talent. Few of the really big-time programs sign Jucos, so we have a shot at better talent. Also Juco's likely could care less about the college social life and whether or not we are a commuter campus- they just want to come in and play basketball.

Hope we have nice Spring weather in Little Rock this weekend. New Mexico State may be tough to beat.
