We've had some ups (including gymnastics) and downs in Olympic sports. However, baseball is off to a very poor start.

I know northern teams are at a disadvantage during the first six weeks of the season, but the team is not doing well versus say northern teams which have the same relative disadvantage as MAC teams.

KIM. they have the 4th toughest schedule in the country
Last night was fun. Warm, with a big comeback.
I was looking forward to watching Tyler Butzin progress as a sophomore, but he is not on the roster. Anybody know why?
The team is on a a mini-run. Sweeped the series against Chicago State and beat MSU at home today.
Time to give baseball a look check out last 17 games. 12/5 best Mac start since 08
Win today gives us wins in 12 of last 17. Series win over Ohio, going for sweep tomorrow. Beat Ohio State in Columbus this week as well.
We're currently 6-2 in MAC play, which is our best start since 2008.

This all sounds great, but over the past few years EMU baseball has performed well in spurts but fizzled out over the course of the season. Hope we keep it together this year.

Sorry, missed this post. Said everything I said, more or less.

BTW, I don't count any EMU baseball game played south of the Mason-Dixon line.

That business of northern teams spending a month in the sun belt completely distorts OOC records in baseball.

If I had my druthers I'd shorten the season by two weeks (start it 2 weeks later) to eliminate some of these early games.

2016 was a very nice tourney with exciting games.
Beat WMU in Kalamazoo today. 5 straight MAC wins.

Currently tied for 2nd overall in the MAC, I believe.
Sweet! Go EMU baseball!!!
5 Mac games left already matched last year's wins
We beat NIU on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a weekend sweep!!! We needed this sweep to gain confidence heading into tournament shortly in a couple weeks.
Former EMU pitcher, Matt Shoemaker, picks up win vs Tigers.
