Here is the guy the WAC didn't get to see this season. He was averaging nearly 14 points per game, and shooting 49% from the field. He was probably our best player at the time of his injury.

The fact NMSU was still successful losing this All-WAC performer tells you how loaded this squad was this season.
When Ndir went down to injury, he was our leading scorer. NMSU had a very balanced scoring attack back then. He was a starter with Baker and Huggins. But he was the utility guy who took over the point when Baker needed a rest.

Sidy's stats... 13.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, 49.4 FG%, 36.1 3FG%, 75.6 FT%

I just hope he does get the medical red-shirt.

Played in 9 games, That is the most one can have for a medical red shirt.
Sidy has been injury prone the last two season. First a severe ankle sprain as a freshman then a torn ligament in his foot this season. I am not sure if it is his aggressive style that causes him to get injured or just bad luck but it does concern me that he can't seem to stay healthy.

I hope he makes a full recovery and becomes the player he was well on his way to being this season. I do think Weir will need to hedge his bets by getting other guards ready to play... LJ Figueroa, Chance Ellis, Gabe Hadley
Not only was he our leading scorer but I felt he was our best overall player. He was our biggest threat for other teams on offense as he can cut/slash, hit mid and long range and has unbelievable explosiveness and speed.

The injury this year came when blocking a shot vs Air Force. It was a freak accident. He landed on his foot wrong. You can actually see the clip he hurt his foot on the Air Force highlights. I wouldn't say he is injury prone, just a little bad luck. I think he'll have a great year next season. Will be one of the top guards in the WAC.
I'm not sure anyone doubts NMSU will be talented next year, Frank. Are you trying to convince us or yourself?
I 2nd the fact that Sidy may be injury prone. I think the upgrade to talent may be across the board for all WAC teams. I like the 6'10 big man GCU signed from Italy. Ciao Bella!
Sidy Ndir will be a candidate for WAC Player of the Year next season.
