It is reported on a couple sites that Dambrot is a strong candidate for the South Florida position. In the meantime, it also was reported that several players have bolted from the SF team with the uncertainty of the coaching situation.
I wouldn't blame him. He's taken that program about as far as it can go and takes crap for it. But I doubt he leaves.
When your at one school for that long it's pretty hard for it not to get stale(except for the top programs). Also there have been some mgt. changes at Akron and maybe things are not going that well. It would not surprise me. He's overdue to move as it is.
He is not going any where
He'll be there until:
Fired
Retires
Dies

He doesn't seem to have an ego to feed......
So either the MAC losses a winning Coach or Akron continues to be competitive each year. Frankly, I'll take option 2
I don't see him leaving, but you never know about coaches.
Remember as far as we know Dambrot never received a big offer from a school from a major conference. While the American isn't the ACC, it's clearly better than most. I don't know much about South Florida but if they can put together one of those big offers it would be the first time Dambrot has to make that type of decision. I can't think of too many coaches that turn those down.
It was already tweeted earlier that's he told them 'no.'

Well that's that!!
His son is still on the Akron soccer team. He isn't going anywhere. Heck, LBJ won't help him recruit in FLA.

Yeah he probably doesn't have enough money for all the airfares.

I take retire, He has way to much equity built up to get fired and he signed a 10yr extension a couple of years ago which will probably take him to retirement.

Duquesne, where coaching careers go to die. I am shocked.
This is a step down. He must see something bad on the horizon. Kind of like going to Bradley.

LOL. the A10 with Dayton, Rhode Island and VCU in the tourney and a salary of 1M per year plus incentives and a 40M upgrade to the arena is a step down from the MAC where you can have a dream team and get nothing if you don't win 3 in 3 days.
A10 us an upgrade in conference, but Duq is a bottom feeder and plays second fiddle to Pitt. smh

Where did you see the details about his new contract?
The only thing I'm seeing is it is a 7 year contract. Not much on salary. It is a multi-bid conference, but Duquenese is going to have trouble filling a team. Their top recruits from this year are bolting. If you're right about the salary, then that makes sense.
