Congratulations also from me. Hope they do well in the tournament.
I'm hoping MTSU gets a decent seed in the tourney. I don't think LaTech gets in.
A 12 seed. Disrespect. MTSU should have been a 9 seed.

LA Tech isn't close to making it

Should have been seeded higher, but I think they can go further as a 12 seed than they can as a 9 seed.
MT's 12 is an indictment on the complete lack of strength of our league.
By my count, and counting the Big East as a power conference, which in basketball it is, only 4 at large teams from non power conferences.

Yep. You really cant argue they deserved much higher. Based on numbers.
MTSU should have been a 6 or 7. No worse

Nah, 6 or 7 is too high considering their SOS. A 9 or 10? Yeah. But, I think the 12 they got is a good place to be.

Minnesota is only a 3 point favorite right now
Should have been 8 or 9. They blew out Ole Miss and Vandy. Vandy had 15 losses and was a 9

Unbelievable

Sos of 1 will do that. The committee has emphasized that for quite a while now.

The bottom line is the conference screwed mtsu. I thought they might get an 11, but 12 was my guess.

Unless you consider the way the P5 teams run like hell from the better Mid-Majors. It has happened to us too many times for me to discount tha as a factor in "They just don't meet the eye test".
12 is good for them. 8 or 9 guarantees them a matchup with a 1 seed on opening weekend.

12 gives them a much easier path to the second weekend.

71-48 is a pretty convincing set of numbers.
Giving MTSU a 12 seed may indicate that they wouldn't have been in with a loss on Saturday. I would've thought they'd be a 10 or 11 seed with winning the conference tournament. I thought losing Saturday would make them a 12.

Alternatively, the committee may have been lazy and just penciled them in as a 12 seed regardless of what happened Saturday.
If I'm MTSU, I like the draw.
A 12 seed is usually the last at large so they would have been squarely on the bubble. They would have been the last in or the first out had they lost. The two convincing SEC wins may have been enough to keep them in.

As I have pointed out before, who a team plays is on the record. Who has refused to play them is conjecture. Has Bama gone back for a second shot at Utah? Has OK tried to sign up for a H&H with Boise State? I don't think so. Until a P5 "golden program" has to tolerate penalty points for ducking risky G5 competition, they will continue to chirp "Who have they played?" while hoping no one notices how they have avoided such teams themselves.

Though my examples are from FB, I believe the point applies to BB as well.
