Jordan Lauf did not make the defensive team, either.
Taylor is flat out a first-teamer. I suspect any bias is because he's a one-and-done guy, unknown before this year.

That would make the most sense, I guess. Him not being on the first team is very surprising.
I won't argue too much with the 1st team selections, and I'm OK with Taylor on 2nd team and Jon Jon on 3rd.

But I don't get Lauf not being on the "Defensive" team, at all...especially given his body of work for 4 years. Zack Denny? Are you kidding me!? Hope Lauf shuts him down tonight.

And I don't recall either Sanford or Navigato being on the "Freshmen" team last season, so we're in a bit of a dry spell there...

Maybe nobody is impressed with our recruits...
The question you have to ask, is who are you going to take off the first team? I have no objections with any of the 5 guys selected first team all mac. I agree the bigger shun, is Lauf not being named to the defensive team.
Knapke beaten out by dylan frye for all frosh team? who would you prefer in your program?

Knapke pretty much settled that argument last night Mano a Mano, eh?
How many championships have we won?

Just the one under Kowalczyk.
They got it right, Lauf maybe... Why would MAC coaches respect us? We have a couple of good seasons but Kent and Akron deserve the respect, OU perhaps. TK has done a good job, Ill give him two more years and decide, Our program was #$!&* before he got here. Last two are questionable but Ill give him the benefit.

One regular season championship. Not the kind that would get you to the NCAA's.

What does team record have to do with All-MAC teams? They're not "1st team for players on teams above .500", "1st team all defense for only teams above .500"

If you play on a good team, your scoring numbers are likely less because more players will share the scoring load. On a bad team an average player could have big numbers because of fewer good players. Scoring average is a big part of selecting all-conference players.

Frye is a find, Knapke a project. Let's see if Luke's assists out of the post go up as he gets years. I like how he's progressing.

Frye impressed me on defense, how often he picked up Taylor, when his teammates failed. He's extremely quick with the ball and his shot. He knows the game.

Time will tell, but barring injury or transfer, I think Frye will be an all-time Falcon.
Loved to see Frye line up next to Taylor at the foul line. Looked like an eighth grader lining up against an NBA player. Yeah, Frye was fancy in HS, we'll see how that translates. He "benefitted" by playing on a bad team. More PT, bigger role. I'll take Knapke. I know Frye isn't going to try and drive on Knapke like he did. Knapke looked like he was casually brushing away a mosquito on those two blocks.

Regular season "championships" are very deceiving. I'm not so sure why we deem someone a winner from the regular season - what exactly does it do for a program? The only thing I'm aware of is it's just another banner to take up more space in an already overcrowded area filled with banners dating back to the 1920s.

Definitely taking Knapke over Frye. But boy, looks sure are deceiving because when looking at the little Frye kid, I never would have thought he'd contribute as much as he does. He really does look like an 8th grader. I wonder where they found him.
