I don't think I've ever been more disgusted with a team than the 2016-17 Blazers.

Please just give a damn. Talent with effort is worthless.
Going by record, the worst UAB of all time was 2002's Murry-coached team, which finished 13-17 (6-10). Even that team had 4 Top 100 wins. Final RPI was 154.
This team is terrible. For a lot of reasons. I think we'll be lucky to make it past Wednesday. I have zero confidence going into next year.
Students started off strong this year and were disappointing last night and fan base as a whole. Whole season was. Looking for better things this fall.
Rob needs a mentor on the bench ASAP.

THIS. I hope Rob realizes it... Its painfully obvious to the rest of us.
Last night summed up the season. I saw a quote from a player saying we played to the level of our competition. That's the coaching staff problem not getting these kids mentally ready to play. I'm not sure how a 14 loss team thinks they are to good to play anybody.

I don't blame the students for not showing up last night. I was there and it was an embarrassment of a basketball game. 0/15 from 3 in the second half and we refused to get the ball inside. That FIU is awful and we lost to them twice. I'm not a coach by any means, but why Nate Darling didn't play in the second half blows my mind. If we are going to shoot 15 3s, shouldn't he be out there. The lack of effort from this team is the most frustrating part of all these loses. We will get beat day 1 next week if we don't figure that out. It will end up as the worst uab team I have ever seen, with some really good talent.

FIU went to a Triangle and Two to shut down our inside game, and we never got them out of it. Darling should've been in instead of Haha or Mehenti. If Lee could've thrown the ball in the ocean last night, he'd have beaten FIU by himself. We should have forced FIU to go small to guard our shooters.

Nobody slowed down Kessing. And nobody sealed off the lane to keep the PG or his cutters out.

Our defense stunk. We should have been in a 3-2 zone all night.

I've been a player on some of those teams that played to the level of their competition. In my opinion, no amount of coaching in the world can fix that mindset. It was infuriating to be a part of, and the hardest part was the was no real explanation for why it was happening and therefore it was very difficult to fix.
Talent with effort is not worthless.

Once Darling hits a shot or two, he is guarded closely. I'm not sure he would have gotten off another shot. However, he is a good passer as well as a shooter.

You have to be able to hit 3's to compete. Dirk was not the shooter he was last season. We lost Norton. Haha had his moments with the 3 ball, but not consistently. Watts shot well this season, but not last night.

In my frustration, I mistyped. Imeant to type "Talent WITHOUT effort is worthless.

MB, I know. What an absolutely disappointing season. For me it all started with Norton going down in game one against Arkansas Pine Bluff. Nick played 11 minutes and had 5 assists. And then in the next game against Furman, we gave up 15 three's. I never recovered.
Fifteen missed threes in the second half? Good lord.

I wish to god we could hire T. R. Dunn as an assistant. He'd be exactly what we need, even if he *was* a bammer. Unfortunately he's with the Houston Rockets, and I don't see him leaving that gig for UAB.
This isn't the worst team ever at UAB. May be the most under performing team ever though.

Murray's team played a real schedule back in the Louisville, Marquette, Memphis/etc days...Ehsan played a GARBAGE schedule
It's gotta be close to the worst UAB team ever. As others have said, we play a much, much worse schedule than those teams did. Those teams also managed to knock off some good opponents. This team lost by 50 to a bad Texas squad.
It will be the worst UAB team by RPI

Probably around a 190-200 RPI when we finish unless we make a run in the tournament.

Losses to 338 FIU twice, 218 WKU, 281 UTSA, 242 UTEP and zero top 100 wins

39 years for me too. And this is the most frustrating, disappointing, and embarrassing team we've ever had. Disgusted is a good choice of words.
FIU scored 16 points on 8 UAB turnovers.

UAB did not score a field goal during the final two minutes and forty one seconds of the game.

Ehsan played a good schedule in the games he had control over. The three swac teams and surprisingly sfa were our only games ooc over 200. Auburn sfa Memphis st Mary's Texas and the tournament were all good games. We just didn't have things pan out the way we hoped with several of those. Ehsan has no control over fiu, unt and southern miss being 330+. He has no control over utsa, fau, Utep, Charlotte, and wku being 200+( we are in this group too now).

The last year we had Memphis in conference, there were three teams that ended the year outside the top 200, and only one of those was 300+. The last year we went as an at large, 8 of 12 teams were in the top 100. Our conference has been absolutely horrendous in recent years. If the pace does not pick up, there is no hope for us regardless. Mtsu has four top 100 wins ooc, 2 of those top 50. They didn't play another top 100 game the rest of the year. No amount of scheduling can overcome that hot piece of garbage that cusa currently is.
