What in the world just happened? Our MBB CANNOT hold a lead. I don't ever condone firing anybody, but, Coach K needs to go. His team played unmotivated as always. The players show ZERO emotion. How do we lose to WMU twice? UN-FRICKIN-BELIEVABLE !!!! I'm DONE...

I agree with Michigan Rocket, this team played like they have all year. Playing not to lose, our 2 main problems seem to be John John and Taylor playing their own game while the other 3 stand and watch. How can you let WMU's best player score half of their points? Coach K didn't try to change the defense or put someone else on Wilder, instead Stanford guarded him all night and couldn't stop him. Again BAD coaching, I watched our team try to run the clock down, then, they paniced and took bad shots. They showed no energy during the whole game, a game that would have put them in great position in the MAC standings, instead they played like losers. This season is over. I know MOB won't fire Coach K, because of his contract extention, but I am very seriously thinking of not renewing my season tickets for the men. Maybe if more people do as I may do, than maybe MOB will get of his a** and get a new coach.
The players need to shoulder blame too. Us old farts pay our money, go to the games and bellyache after. Why should they care what we say? They play a kids game and get a FREE education to live the college life. If they lose I doubt they'll be crying over their text books.
In Late February we start playing like we've got other things we'd rather be doing in March.

pitiful, and I was starting to come up from the Miami Valley and catch a game in Toledo, I don't think so anymore. Simply can't lose at home to a bad WMU team, as they row the boat.
37 years and counting...WHEN WILL IT END?
bizarre late game performance. the elephant in the room that no one is bringing up is the minutes played. the coach has decided to basically play a 6 man rotation and we play tired down the stretch of every game. i like how the team plays the rest of the time. and if this game goes on any one player. if people are going to call out one of these kids. you gotta put it on jaelon sanford. i like him but he got the yips down the stretch and we couldn't even run offense on most of last 10 regulation possession. he's the pg. he needs to be tough. he got stripped 3 times. wilder absolutely dominated him down the stretch. i want a coach to believe in his guys but he also needs to adjust. he should have had jonjon run the point for a possession or two, take some pressure off sanford. sit taylor for an extra couple breathers and allow adway to provide some energy. the guys were gassed and no adjustment was made. the worse sanford played the more we just stood around and watched the pg try to go one on one or pass it off to the tired big guy who is a much less effective offensive player after about 25 minutes played. people are calling out jonjon but he and lauf were the only ones consistently playing good d and jonjon's forces down the stretch mostly came because no one else was getting open or making a play for a teammate.

I think our next best chance, realistically, will be 2 seasons from now.

I think (hope) that next season we can eek out a winning record in MAC play, or at least go 9-9. Most of next season's team will still be there that following season, and it gives TK one more recruiting class. But if we're still no better than mid-to-bottom MAC after these next 2 seasons, well...

Agreed, can't play 6.5 guys. We lose because we are gassed. I can understand why he doesn't want Roberts or Adway in there but he has to play them more. Some teams can play 6 guys but those 6 are studs. None of our 6 have that much athleticism or stamina. We can't go Saturday Tuesday without subbing.. TK should know that.

Exactly. Which is why Adway & Roberts should have been playing more early in the season, when their mistakes would have meant less in the overall scheme of things, and, by now, they'd be more experienced down the stretch. Instead, when Sanford fouled out in OT and Roberts was forced into the game (he hadn't played at all in the 2nd half), you could just sense we were in trouble.

Now, I get that maybe, possibly they don't practice hard, and so TK doesn't want to "reward" that--but I've heard nothing to support or suggest that. And, if you were a player who had gotten to this very late point of the season with few real minutes of court time, I'm not sure your motivation or confidence would be at the level needed to get the coach's attention in practice (particularly if your talent level was borderline to begin with).

TK has a hand in creating this, over the past few seasons. He will have a couple shots to dig out, but if he can't, then MOB will need to make the tough call.

The season isn't over yet. That was a very disappointing loss last night. But, I choose to remain optimistic. Beat the Chips on Friday!
VERY poor coaching once again. Men's BB program is going nowhere. So disappointing.

His failings are nothing new. I said this three years ago after watching them play Oakland U. First game I ever walked out on with more than 13 minutes left in the game. Couldn't take it anymore.

I try to be the eternal optimist also, but every year it's same old, same old.
