So Liberty got what they wanted: FBS. Now, the hard part. Getting FBS schools to play them at their 19,000 capacity stadium. Who's first? CCU? GSU? UMASS? NM St?

New Mexico.---shocking. Doesn't make sense for either school.
I say Charlotte, CCU, ODU or APP. I predict Wake will be the first P5. Getting four FBS games will be easy with CUSA, MAC and SB teams. I would be shocked if LIBERTY, NMSU and UMASS don't sign a five to six year deal for home and home immediately helping each schools meet the requirement. BYU I believe helped UMASS, I would not be shocked if BYU signs to play a H/H. I doubt Liberty has any issue getting four FBS home games with an FCS game every season.

Is 4 FBS games the minimum? So 5 total, but only 4 have to be FBS....that's probably doable. Everyone keeps talking about how much money Liberty has so could they pay more money then the standard amount for cash strapped schools to play them?
Cheers!
If I was Liberty I'd be on the phone to the MWC schools who get the extra game because of the Hawaii exception. I'd also pay extra for schools like BYU. That would be huge for their program to get BYU at home.

Cheers!
Hopefully, Army!

I would guess the first P5 team to do so would be Miami FL. They have no problems playing home and home with G5 opponents. They played at Appalachian state this year.
If I'm not mistaken, for the 2018 season our capacity should be 25,000 and no later than 2019. After that we'll see how the crowds are. We may bump that up to 35,000 following 2019.

There really needs to be a new division for schools like this. No business playing FBS.

Earlier there were mentions of Liberty being a rich AD. Can anyone shed some light on that claim?

Being a private school, it's going to be difficult to find an article on their athletic finances. However, I've been driving by Lynchburg from Richmond to Blacksburg for 30 years and for the last 15 Liberty had always had cranes up building something new every time we've passed by there. I did read an article a while back that Gill asked for a second indoor football practice facility and they built one no questions asked. They seem to have all the money they need to compete. We'll find out if they have enough money when we see who Liberty has coming to play football in Lynchburg.

I didn't even know they were a non-profit until recently. Apparently they are, and even have a billion dollar endowment. How that is possible, I don't know.
Cheers!

Why be a stuck up sourpuss, I would love to see Houston to be the first football team to play liberty in FBS H&H mybe even invite them into the AAC
I hope it is either South Alabama, Minnesota, or Coastal Carolina if they are FBS schools. That would be awesome! I would also be pumped for Marshall and pretty much any Sun Belt school as the first to schedule Liberty.

Realistically, I expect the poorer schools like Louisiana Monroe and Eastern Michigan to accept a payday. Old Dominion wants another Virginia school in CUSA so maybe they will want to schedule Liberty as the next best thing.
I want our first game to be BYU, Army, Navy, ODU, or Notre Dame. I expect of that list maybe Army or ODU may be feasable.

I have no doubt ODU will be willing to schedule a H&H but our first opening isn't until 2021 I think.
