Per John Rosthstein... BE would accept them in all sports, UConn would need to find a home for football. ACC mentioned. I don't know, but would obviously be a blow to the conference ...
LOL - who would want ONLY football from UCONN?

Boston College.
I would think UConn would have a better shot getting a full invite to the ACC than a FB only invite.
Memphis and UConn should offer the ACC $75 Million each to join the conference. That would be a $10 Million payout to each of the 15 ACC member schools.
Would any of us even notice?

MAC

Yep-Rothstein blowing smoke-has some connection to UConn??
Would have been more believable without the ACC mention. Why would ACC want UCONN football and not their men's and women's bball programs? That's like saying we are going to join the Big East, but will put our football program in the SEC.

It is not April yet, right?
Fake news.
Alternative Facts
The aac ain't taking a football only UConn. But Ican see uUConn doing this and going independent in football.
UConn would have to drop their football to FCS for this plan to be feasible.

This is the kinda stuff that can happen when you enter into long bad contracts ... "unhappy conference members."

Unfortunately, the UCONN WBB team are the only AAC team making major headlines this basketball season. Aresco is starting to look like a complete greenhorn. It would definitely hurt the conference's bargaining power during the next round of negotiations, if we lose them ... 07-coffee3
Anyone who laughs at this can't smell what's coming. The Bigeast is about to get included in the power structure when the P5 splits. It'll be 5 leagues in football and 6 in basketball. Memphis would do well to follow UCONN if this happens. Go MAC or Cusa in football.
If they wanna join...see ya.

This is the most credible scenario and makes sense with the way UConn was dragged into D1 football to appease the old BEast powers.

Uh.No. MAC or CUSA is a giant step backward, especially in football. Someone is in fantasyland if they think UConn can go ACC in football only; like another poster mentioned, they'll have to go FCS. They wouldn't survive independent.

As I recall one of uconn's selling points to the b12 is that they're a major football draw in the New York metro area. If so - UConn football is the BYU of the northeast.
