starts Tuesday. No spring game.
No Spring Game!?? That's weird.
not enough interest, I guess?

Spring games have generally gotten a pretty decent crowd, for a spring game that is. I really hope this isn't true.
Its a trend you will start to see elsewhere.
Coaches hate spring games. They would rather have the extra practice and don't like the chance of injury. In Toledo's case, however, anything that can help increase fan interest should be considered.
It is unfortunate, but understandable. I'm going through football withdrawal. Is it time for Ranger's countdown yet?

Right. I feel like taking away the spring game is taking away a chance to expand Toledo's brand of football.

They can still have a party, meet the players, maybe some flag football with little kids or how about, challenging football players to tail-gate games?

Yeah, if I'm a 7 year old, and I am getting closer to that, would I rather sit in the stands and eat stale pizza or maybe play some 6'4" 300lb guy a competitive game of tiddly winks or something similar? Heck, be interesting to see these guys in the weight room, showing athletic skills....

If someone can't figure out a way to make this an even more fun day, then they need to clean house. UT's never been all that great at bringing the party to games anyhow, this is a chance to try some things. Put some hype on the video board, cartoons, sports movie, open the lots to tailgaiting, open enroll any spots not claimed by normal owner....

Spring game is about the only chance to see second string QB though, the way our coaches work to keep games close. Mostly that's what I always like about Spring game, seeing players I don't get to see much.

sigh

It's not televised? On a good spring game we have 8,000 fans maybe? None are newcomers to Toledo football... usually parents of players, and dieharders who want autographs for their kids. I don't think scUM and O$U fans are switching teams because of our Spring game. We also had to switch the game indoors last year because of the weather, and it was a huge hassle for the coaches and staff. It's been said that coaches hate the game already... players don't break out in a Spring game. The coaches know where the talent resides in the 20 whatever practices they get prior to the game.
Another lost opportunity to connect with the fan base and community. OSU packs the Shoe for their Spring game.
Meh

I can take it or leave it.
Taking away the spring game doesn't sit well with me. A lot of programs across the nation are making huge promotions about their spring games and the fans seem to be getting really excited that they have some sort of football to support. Wish I could say the same.

I can't believe it takes much to put together and promote and it certainly offers fans something to get excited about. Basically y, you've got football season, signing day and the Spring game as fan events. I didn't go often but I hate to not have the opportunity,
Should have. Its good experience for the players and coaches. These coaches are payed well.... have the game, its not that difficult to put on. Guys get injured in drills and working out for goodness sakes.

People pay to go to OSU's spring game. And they still fill the stadium.
Toledo's is free and barely draws anything.
People need to stop comparing Toledo to OSU/UM/ND.

We draw better than Maryland, Rutgers, and the likes...isn't that worth it? Not many programs attract fans on both sides of the stadium for its spring game.

The secret's in the deception: telling them it's the game that makes Spring start.
I enjoy watching it. I go every year. If its a nice day its well attended.
