The only two conference road dates still open are for Navy and USF- so it will be one of those two.

Three consecutive road games followed by three at home (with a bye week) seems a little strange to me. I guess the dispute with Michigan got worked out to someone's satisfaction?

We don't play Houston in regular season. First league game at Navy is big if we can come away with a win the next two league games are certainly winnable at home against UCF and SMU.

Technically, there are three consecutive road games. However, we do have the ability to make one of them a home game.
^^ I have a feeling Miami will have a larger crowd supporting them than what we've seen for a while. There is a lot of optimism in Oxford coming off their 6-7 season-- they basically return everyone from last year. Plus, thanks to the last regime Miami has kept it close against us the past four seasons.

That September stretch @Michigan, @Miami, @Navy and Marshall at home is going to tell us a lot about what kind of season we are going to have. As much excitement this new staff is brining it is a tall order to think we are going to bounce back from last year and look like the Bearcats we became accustomed to for nearly a decade. I truly do not know what we are in store for this year on the field.
Hopefully we don't have a let down after we go into the Big House and knock off that team from up north. :)
Some good road and air trips:

9/16 We always go to Foreskiner Game I think we extend streak with Luke leading. Had TT still been here the streak would likely have ended.
9/23 Navy a must see. Southwest good flights or use Fractional
11/4 Tulane go for the food (K Paul's, Emerils, Café du Monde beignets) and the beat down of Tulane. Delta or fractional
11/18 ECU will go if meaningful.

Won't go to the game up north as I cannot stand to see us get killed.

There is some reason for optimism... I am not a "Tuberville fan" and did not buy his never-ending line of "We're waiting on the talent in the pipeline" excuses for lack-luster results, but we did have a number of potential playmakers on redshirt last season. Of course there will likely be some attrition through the Spring as the new coaching staff sorts players out, but at least the cupboard wasn't totally bare for Coach Fickell and staff.

As a matter of fact, part of what dismayed me about the Tuberville "Pipeline" angle was that I had zero confidence in the past staff's ability to develop that talent which was in "the pipeline." Hopefully Coach Fickell and his staff CAN and WILL develop the talent coming up in the system.

Not to mention that, it looks to me at least, like the schedule is extremely front loaded...which means we will hit that hardest stretch at the front, hopefully before any major injuries.

So... I'm hopeful, at least.

What dispute was there with Michigan? I thought the issues were with the basketball game cancellation.

The home and home hoops was the leverage that got us to do a one and done up there.

BB and FB were a package, then UM screwed us on BB.

I would have favored cancelling the FB game and finding a FCS game.

We already have an FCS game: 8/31- Austin Peay (Thursday game)

Only one counts toward bowl bids. I'm still confident Coach Fickell can find six wins in that schedule.
With HCLF in charge, the Michigan game will get a lot of extra eyeballs in the state. If the team plays well, we could see a boost in casual fans.
